Chapter 20

Kai disappeared without a trace. No one knew where he was. A whole week of silence. No news about Jaehyun or anything. Sicheng told him about working at the café. To make Yuta fell in love with him. Taeyong was shocked when the boy said that Jaehyun ordered him to do so.

"Why would Jaehyun do that?" Taeyong asked.

"I don't know. He never tells me why." Sicheng replied.

Taeyong was aware that Jaehyun was not favor Yuta that much. He always hated it when Taeyong met Yuta. Like he's holding a grudge against the latter. But Taeyong didn't think that Jaehyun hated Yuta to the extend of making Yuta fell in love with someone.

One day, Taeyong got home from his class when he saw two policemen standing in front of Sicheng's house. Just like what Kai said, they came to interrogate the boy. They had a talk with Sicheng before they told Sicheng to follow them to the police station. As they walked to the stairs, Taeyong stood in front of them.

"Sicheng. What's wrong?" Taeyong asked the boy behind the two men.

Before Sicheng could say anything, the police stopped Taeyong.

"We would like to ask him a few questions at the police station. So please don't disturb our job." The police said to Taeyong.

Taeyong let out a sigh as he stepped to the side, giving them space to walk. He watched his friend got into the car and left. When Taeyong entered his house, his mother came to him with a concerned face.

"What happened?"

"Sicheng goes to the police station. They want to ask him something."

"I know about that. I saw he left. But why?"

"I don't know."

"Is it about the one that kidnapped you?" Mrs. Lee asked and Taeyong glared at her.

They agreed to not talk about that ever again. Taeyong hated it when his mom brought it up. At first, Taeyong thought it was a kidnap too. But turned out, Jaehyun just wanted someone to love. His mom was being dramatic. It was her husband that she needed to worry about.

"How many times do I have to tell you to not bring that up? Our lives are in danger if it got out."

Taeyong entered his room and slammed the door. He sat on his bed and tucked his hair. It must be about Jaehyun. Why would the police come for Sicheng if it's not about him? What was Kai's plan when he told Sicheng about this? Why did they leave Taeyong out?

A few hours later, Sicheng came home and Taeyong immediately went to the boy. Sicheng looked a bit pale. He saw Taeyong running towards him, and he hugged the latter. They then went inside the house.

"So what happened?" Taeyong asked when they sat on the couch.

"Jaehyun... is in the jail." Sicheng said. Taeyong's eyes widened.

"He and his dad got caught when they attacked Kim's mansion. They've been rivals for a long time. Jaehyun killed everyone. The police asked me about Mr. Jung's dirty work. I did what Kai told me to do. So they let me go because I got nothing to do with it."

Tears started to form in Taeyong's eyes. Why did all this happen? He cupped his face while trying to digest everything.

"So that night when Kai brought us here is because Jaehyun ambushed the mansion and got caught."

"W-why did Jaehyun do that? Why to that extend? What was he thinking?" Taeyong stated.

"I will be called again to testify in the court."
