"fuck you to everyone." you were laying down in the grass in an open field staring at the night sky with beautiful stars. "fuck you, marco, fuck you, ymir, fuck you, sasha, fuck you, mina, fuck you, thomas, fuck you, erwin, fuck you, eren, fuck you, hange, fuck you, all my friends that died!" a tear rolls down your eye and onto the grass as you raise your arms into the air towered the stars. "i hide my pain with jokes, but the second someone reminds me of the past, i lose it. i can't fucking take it anymore!" you yell, without worry. "i'm so glad this seemingly endless war ended, but i just wish i could go back, back to the time when i cracked jokes and didn't have to use them as a coping mechanism. when me, jean, connie, sasha, and marco laughed without a care in the world." you pause for a minute. "remember when you said 'that's my christa! after this mission is over, marry me, baby!' ymir?" you said looking up at the sky, hoping she's listening. "remember when you were called 'potato girl' sasha?" remember when you were the gayest one here, marco? and jean was just too dense... and when moblit was deeply in love with you, hange?"
"and when your smile was the brightest out there." someone said from behind.
"AH!" you shot up and turned around to see a tall boy with only a shaved head.
"h-hey!" connie said scratching the back of his head with a sad chuckle.
"how long have you been there?"
"um, when you were talking to sasha"
you laid back down and stared at the sky again.
"was the thing about marco true?" connie asked.
"yeah. he told me everyday how much he admires jean."
connie came closer and laid right next to you with his arms laying on his stomach. the was silence for 2 minutes until connie spoke up.
"don't leave."
"what?"
"don't kill yourself. i can tell that's what's on your mind."
"but-"
"no. i'm not letting you see sasha again. sasha's waiting patiently, she doesn't expect you with her for a while."
"i miss her, i want to see her."
connie completely ignores your excuses. "do you know what eren fought for? freedom. not just his freedom, but for his friends' freedom. don't waste what he did for us."
you were holding back tears and almost at your limit. connie looked over to you and noticed your facial expression.
"it's okay. let it out, y/n."
and with that, you sobbed your heart out.
"you and i will always be best friends." connie said.
