│ ✶ : · • idk how the hell D&D works im not even joking i only barely knew D&D existed before stranger things and i dont feel like reading the like 400 page long intruction manual so im literally just assuming and putting the D&D scene from episode 1 into different words and its not even really focusing on D&D I just had this really good idea to add will to the hellfire club

│ .· * im bored and its 7:15 in the morning and im trying to pull an all nighter so yeah

│ ✵ ˚ : · set as if everyone was normal kids in 1986 and the byers (and hoppers) moved back to hawkins (but relationship status with will and mike remains the same sadly and this is a lot of byler)

Mike Wheeler's POV:

School started back up again and that means a new year for Eddie to not graduate. I mean at some point they might as well kick him out. But it's good for us, because we get to play D&D right after a stressful day of school. Speaking of D&D, recently Will moved back to Hawkins. And him and El are starting high school down here. I don't know how to tell Will about D&D without hurting his feelings. I mean I did promise I wouldn't join another party. I don't need to worry about that right now, though. Right now, I need to worry about picking up El and Will to get them to school. I put my Hellfire shirt on, throw a flannel overtop, and tie my new black and white converse shoes that I got a few weeks ago since my old ones are so beat up they have holes in them.

"Nancy!" I call. There is no answer so I call again. "Nancyy!!!" I say even louder than before.

"What, goddamn it?!" Nancy says from the hallway, walking into my room.

"Can you drive me to Eleven's house? I'm taking her and Will to school for their first day."

"Ugh, sure."

"Thanks."

I throw my backpack over my shoulder and throw the extra hellfire shirt Eddie gave me in case something happens to it into my backpack then head down stairs, waiting for Nancy to come down. I look to the clock on the wall and realize I'm almost late.

"Nancy, I'm gonna be late!"

"I'm right here, be patient, Mike!" Nancy says, walking down the stairs with her pink polka dotted lanyard with like 40 keys on them. Why does she need so many keys? Is she hiding a ton of safes?!

Will Byers' POV:

Me and El are sitting on out front porch waiting for Mike to get us so we can drive to school together. My leg bounces in anxiety. What if I don't fit in? What if out middle school bullies remember me? I look even more like a freak to be bullied than when I was actually being called a freak. What if I embarrass myself and everyone remembers me as the new kid to pick on?

"Hey. You alright?" Eleven asks, which causes me to stop spacing out and look at her.

"Uh, yeah, I'm fine. Just a little nervous."

"Yeah, me too." She responds with, then leaning her head onto my shoulder.

A blue and brown car pulls up to our house and the passenger's window rolls down to reveal Mike. I stand up then help El get up and we walk to Nancy's car, and I let El in before me. I closed to door behind me and buckled myself but Mike told Nancy to drive before my seatbelt was on... Mike are you literally trying to kill me? That was a joke.

The car ride was awkward and every so often Mike would say something random about the school or El would ask where some classes were and he would respond with a short response. We finally got to school and Mike immediately headed straight for the door with El while I just followed behind. He's so annoying like that, it's like I'm not even there.

Mike Wheeler's POV:

School was long and boring, but it was finally over. I didn't bother going to find Will and walk him to the Hellfire club because I still can't face the fact that I'm a bad friend. So when I get there, he is still late. Unfortunately I don't have El here with me to hide my affection for Will. I hate this.

"Heyyy, Is your friend here yet?!" Garett greeted, with finger guns and a smirk.

"No." I firmly stated, looking to the wall embarrassed.

I look over to the door and notice someone walking past the door rushed. Then they come back and read the sign next to the door. When I look closer to the person I notice a bowl cut.

It's Will...

"HE'S HERE!" Dustin celebrates. The door opens and Will comes in, really nervous and his Hellfire shirt I gave him during lunch today on already.

"You must be 'Will the Wise'?" Eddie asks.

"That's- That's me." Will responds. "I see someone has told you about me?" He adds, looking at me. I look away feeling my face burn up.

"Clearly!" Eddie mentions me. I'm still embarrassed, so I just look to Eddie instead. "You sound like you're gonna be a good addition to our group."

Will smiles nervously.

*BAM*

Eddie slams his hands onto the table and sits down dramatically into his "thrown" and mentions everyone else to sit down. Will sits next to me because I'm probably the only person he's comfortable around, even though Dustin and Lucas are here.

*about 4 and a half hours after*

"Yeah!!" The group celebrates.

For Will's first time with this group, he did it pretty well, defeating an enemy.

Everyone thanks Will for defeating it and Eddie congratulates him. I just smile and clap for him. I don't want to get close and hug him, unlike Dustin.

"Will the Wise, everyone!" Eddie shouts, which can be heard through the entire theater room. Will looks over to me, looking genuinely happy for the first time since middle school. This warmed my heart and my heart felt like it was pounding out of my chest like this was a cartoon. I'm glad I introduced him to the club.
