i turned on the faucet to the shower and connected my bluetooth speaker to my phone and turned on my upbeat playlist. i stripped my clothes and made sure the water was perfect, then got in. the warm water hit my back with pleasure. the song that was on was 'Looking Out for You' by Joy Again. i hummed to the song and began to cleanse my body.
as the song ended, the water got cold. "why did the water get cold..?" i asked myself.
the water got warm again, so you assumed it was your neighbor from the dorm next to you, whose bathroom is on the other side of the wall.
the next song came on, it was your favorite song as of right now.
you sang along to the lyrics. "i don't really give a damn about the way you touch me when we're alone."
"THIS IS MY JAM!" you heard a feminine voice come from the other room. it startled you and made you jump.
you shrugged it off and continued singing. "you can hold my hand If no one's home. do you like it when i'm away? if i went and hurt my body, baby, would you love me the same? i can feel all my bones coming back and i'm craving motion. mama never really learned how to live by herself, it's a curse, and it's growing, you're a pond and i'm an ocean. oh, all my emotions feel like explosions when you are around and i've found a way to kill the sounds, oh. oh, baby, I am a wreck when i'm without you, i need you here to stay i broke all my bones that day i found you crying at the lake. was it something i said to make you feel like you're a burden? oh, and if i could take it all back i swear that i would pull you from the tide." i sang.
"Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa and i know that you know, listen close and move slow." ymir sang along, as i went quiet for this verse. i hadn't imagined singing along with a mysterious neighbor who i one know the name of because of my good friend christa. "i can't speak fast or else i'll crack it's the price i pay for going back and i dream to be seen. now i've got it do i want it?" ymir had the loveliest voice i've ever heard.
"oh baby i am a wreck when i'm without you, i need you here to stay. i broke all my bones that day i found you crying at the lake. was it something i said to make you feel like you're a burden, oh and if a could take it all back I swear that i would pull you from the tide~" both of us sang together with passion.

"y/n, right?" the girl asked.
"that's me!"
"my name's ymir. i've heard about you from my friend christa. heard you're a charmer~!"
"funny, i've heard about you from christa!" you laughed.
"why haven't we met? we're neighbors, after all." the girl asks.
"yeah! want to get coffee sometime?"
"sounds great~!" she said, as if she were trying to seduce me. "hey, do you listen to girl in red?" she asks.
"oh my god..." you say under your breath.
"..."
"yes..."
