2 : Rainbow and Shadow

Amanogi kept banging on the door, throwing things, but no one seemed to hear him. He slumped down, he's thinking of unlocking the door but he never tried to learn how, so of course he failed.

He glanced at the clock in the room, it's been almost an hour already. Amanogi didn't know when's his turn for the audition, but he bet he didn't have much time left.

"D*mn!" He kicked the door, but then groaned in pain as he massaged his foot. His eyes felt itchy and he felt like crying. But no, he knew he's stronger than this so he wouldn't cry. It would make the bullies felt like they won.

"What should I do...Sei.."

He cursed as he recalled how stupid he was for leaving his bag outside. Amanogi could only hope the bullies didn't take away his violin case and school bag.

"Anyone, please!" Amanogi kept banging at the door desperately. He couldn't help himself, slowly, his cheeks were wet with tears. He's the type to cry when he's frustrated.

"Please.."

Meanwhile outside, Nijimura was walking after meeting with the coach. He looked around and sighed, he's getting a bit late for practice.

"--anyone!"

Nijimura stopped and turned around, he swore he heard someone shouting for help.

"I'm here, please let me out!"

He quickly went to the source of the voice. Nijimura tried to open the door but it's locked. Luckily, he's the basketball team captain and he always brought the spare keys for changing rooms. He opened the door, gasped as he saw a crying boy inside the abandoned room.

"Wha-what are you doing in this place?" He asked, confused because the room was rarely used by the basketball team.  Nijimura quickly changed his question when he saw the boy was hiccuping.

"Are you okay?" Nijimura's fingers gently wiped the tears on Amanogi's cheeks, making the boy jumped in surprise. "S-Sorry for touching you without your consent--"

"I-It's fine.." Amanogi shook his head and bowed. "Thank you so much." He said while wiping his eyes, then heading outside and took his violin case while sighing. 'Thank God they didn't take it.' he thought, relieved.

"Ano--"

Amanogi turned while hiccuping, somehow he couldn't stop his crying.

"You're going to the audition for the orchestra right? Are you going to be alright? You're late right?" Nijimura asked while glancing at the violin case. Almost everyone in the school knew about Amanogi, the violin prodigy, including Nijimura who coincidentally heard about the violin audition.

"I..well I'll tell them that I'm locked in a room.." Amanogi replied weakly as he looked down and bowed once again. 'I guess I won't make it in time for the audition.' he thought while smiling bitterly.

Nijimura patted the boy's shoulder and smiled, "I got an idea, just follow me."

"Sorry I'm late!"

Amanogi panted as he arrived at the audition hall. He flickered his gaze towards the children, the bullies were there, snickering at him.

"Amanogi-kun, your turn is already--"

"Excuse me, Sensei, Amanogi-san isn't late because he intend to do that."

"Eh? Nijimura-kun? You're the basketball team captain right?"

Nijimura walked in and went to the teacher. "He's late because he's been locked by someone in basketball changing room--" He drove his gaze to the boys standing who were looking guilty, "--so please let him join the audition, Sensei. It's also my fault for letting someone else use the room without permission."
