TW: Mention of self blame

"Did you pack all your things already? I mean, from this room?"

Amanogi took a deep breath as he wiped the sweat on his foreheads. "I think so."

Kagami nodded as he stretched his sore arms. "Why are you suddenly moving out by the way? It's like you won't come back here."

The red haired man raised his eyebrows in confusion. "Don't tell me--"

"It's not what you think." Amanogi quickly intercepted. "My house is too far from anywhere, so I'd like to rent a place."

"Then..what's wrong with my apartment? There's a spare room anyway."

The silver haired man pursed his lips and shook his head lightly. "That won't do."

Seeing the smaller won't spill the reason, Kagami stopped asking and only stared at the box stacked inside Amanogi's room.

"Oh right, how's your trip to Akita and Kyoto?"

Amanogi slowed down and gulped. "It's..quite enjoyable...I guess."

--Flashback on--

"You're leaving already?"

Akashi lightly pouted as he emphasized that Amanogi didn't stay long enough to his liking. Which is nonsense, cause he won't be satisfied no matter how long the other person stayed. Of course, Akashi wanted to monopolize the man to stay in his house, forever.

"Actually, I overstayed. I was supposed to be back two days ago."

"Oh?" Akashi raised his eyebrows at the sentence. "And what caused it?

The silver haired man pretended not to hear and continued shoving things onto his suitcase. Akashi chuckled at Amanogi's slight blush on his cheeks, then he walked closer to the man.

"Here, charm for good luck."

The red haired man held up a small charm from a shrine, tied with red ribbon. "I know you're going to play well, but hold on to this whenever you feel..discomfort."

Amanogi was stunned at Akashi's wording, as if knowing what he was about to do during the stay abroad. The reason he didn't want Akashi to come along was because he didn't want the other man to know about his therapy for his mental health. It's not a shameful thing at all, he just doesn't want to burden the red haired man.

"...Arigatou." he replied while taking the charm and placed it inside his wallet.

"I also have something for you."

"Oh?" Akashi looked a bit surprised at the statement. He stared at Amanogi who looked busy searching something in his bag.

"Ah, here!"

He handed a shogi chess composed of white marble with a hint of red lines. The piece looked exquisite and suit Akashi's taste very well.

Akashi carefully traced the chess and was stunned to see his name engraved at the back with gold color.

"Did you.."

The silver haired man scratched his cheeks shyly, "I custom made it, how's it?" he asked, highly expecting a satisfied reply from the man in front of him. "I knew you don't have an equal enemy for now, but we can always play together!"

"This...arigatou...Yū" Akashi smiled warmly at the man and carefully hugged the piece as if it's a fragile thing. "I really appreciate this."

Seeing his delighted expression, it made Amanogi began to smile. "L-Let's go out, it's almost time!"
