ive not been home cant face dad i might break under his familiar glare. i smile at the though when i get pulled out my thoughts as i go down an ally hear my name " maisie shelby" i turn around and see pol walking toward me angrily i put my hands in my pants pockets." hey pol"i smile at her as she approches me." dont hey pol me young lady where have you been" she shouts and starts inspecting my face

" yes pol" she laughs at me " can you change these barrels" i laugh and go behind the bar and crouch down so i cant be seen and start changing them when the door opens and shuts i stand up and see dad and hear a door lock " maisie" i roll my eyes and groan " she fucking set me up they both did" he sits down at the bar i get a bottle of whiskey and a glass for him

he lights a ciggrette and starts laughing so do i " stop laughing it not funny dad" he just chuckes an looks at me and i look down at the bar leaning my elbows on it " where have you been maisie" i sigh while walking round and sitting next to him " here and there had to bribe afew peaky " he just chuckles " you mean threaten" i nod  and he grabs my chin and inspects my face "you know your the third person to grab my chin today" he looks at me questionably and i roll my eyes"

i just sight and get up and walk towards the back door " where you going" i just carry on walking ignoring him i go to jjs and sleep there the next morning i sneak in the house and bath and change and then sneak back out i go to pols "morning" i sit down at the table " how did it go" she puts her news paper down " i ended up walking out all he was doing was casing me he want to do that he can talk to a peaky boy"
