The blues

I sigh rubbing my forehead it's dead silent
" hey out Isaiah really I just lost my cousin and probably my uncle for your stupid games" I feel his presents he hugs me and I hug him " knew you'd love me anything I done Maisie shelby" he kisses my head I look up at him and kiss him " get out go now I'll see you tomorrow" he nods and goes back out the way he came the window

Next morning I wake up and get dressed ^picture up top^ and I go downstairs and use the phone " meet me at the bone yard yeah okay bye" I put the phone down and I walk out to small health I go into the den and pol walks up to me " your best friends like tried to hang himself " I look at her and nod and stand next to him at the table I light a cigarette " should have use a gun" he looks up at me and scoff my dad comes out of his office luke stand up"

" are you laughing at me Maisie" I raise my eyebrows at him " yes yes I am luke" he scoffs and take the cigarette I hug him and slap his head upward unlinking I see dad smirking I roll my eyes walking back to pol sitting down " when did life get so difficult " I look at pol " right pol my friend right she uhh likes a boy but the boy is being very difficult so she doesn't know weather to trust him because it could affect both of them what shall she do" poll leans back in her seat " what have you done Maisie" i sigh " it's my friend pol" she rolls her eyes " your friends should go for it and see where it goes also tell your friends she better not tell her dad"

I nod I pat my jacket till I find my ciggies I light one " Maisie Come here" I roll my eyes and walk through the den and see dad " hey dad what's up" he looks at me dead in the eye " something called school your late as usual" " ah yeah I'm suspended for a week so" I stand against the wall " why now" i shrug my sholders " because I got bored and decided I'd lock a teacher in a class room and then found out they was having an affair with another teacher I told the whole school and wala I'm here" I smile looking at him he rolls his eyes

" you need to stop getting in trouble" i rubs his head " cool I'm going the yard" I go to walk off he grab my arm " home by dark" I nod walking out to the yard
" hey Charlie" he looks up and smiles at me " oh what my Maisie doing here Ey" I hug him " staying out of dads way so I don't wind him up but here we are anyways can I see my horse" he nods I walk over to the stables "hey boy" I stroke him and stay with him for the rest of the day

Tommys POV
I'm sat in pols and fin comes in and sits down " what up fin" I say taking a drag of my cigarette " Tom is maisie blue again" I look at him confused " what do you mean fin elaborate on that will you" he shifts and lights a cigarette " well when you was at war maisie used to get blue well that's what pol said she'd just disappear for days and only pol would see her" pol walks in " what you doing here fun isiahs looking fo you" Fin gets up and walks out

Pol shuts the doors " what the fuck is fin in about pol" I shout as she sits down opposite me " she became sad when you left like every kid did then all the others kids dads came back she thought-she thought you'd died Tom then she became depressed she didn't come out of her room for days weeks" i sigh rubbing my forhead " why didn't I know why didn't anyone tell me"

" because you came back she hasn't had a episode in a while usually I know when it's coming she doesn't like speaking about it tom okay she thinks she's not right she thinks if you find out you'd just get rid of her be disappointed" she looks at me i sigh standing up putting on my coat " she should be back by now it's dark already" pol just looks at me confused and shakes her head " she probably went to the big house instead she isn't very coordinated she'll probly get in when you do" i smile knowing she probly will I kiss pol on the cheek and get in the car driving to Charlie's yard

" hey Tom she left like an hour ago to the big house" I nod and get back in the car and drive to the big house and I get out and walk in the house and see muddy boot prints then Maisie's boots I see her sat in the table with a book " hi dad" she smiles and starts laughing I throw my hat in the table and take my coat off and sit down " you you laughing so much"

" fin called said he's sorry for the dent in the wall at the garrison" i sigh and I Look at her " how is there a dent in the wall" she Burt out laughing " he apparently fell a hood few feet off a table oh and you need a new table" she finally calms down and I laugh " oh and why the fuck is there mud in the floor Maisie I've told you" she put her hand up in surrender " in my defence I didn't realise I was walking it through till I got halfway through" she opens her book back up

We sit in silence for a while I watch her move her wavey black her to the side " you need a hair cut maid" she looks at me offended " I'm offended I like it long so suck it up say you. You need a hair cut dad" she ruffles my hair as she walks past we I swat her hand away " get us a drink mais" she laughs " do I look like a maid call fransis" she did have a fair point put got me a glass and a bottle of whiskey " go to bed Maisie it late" she rolls her eyes " dad I'm not six anymore you know" I nod remembering when she used to climb in my lap and read till she fell asleep

" I wish you was six still Maisie" she smiles and bends down I kiss her cheek and she hugs me " I'll always be here dad I'm not going anywhere I'm only on the other side of the house" I nod kissing her cheek " go to bed and don't forget pols coming over in the morning with the family" she nods and walks upstairs " I mean it Maisie go to sleep stop reading" I hear her laugh
