The box and help

Tommys pov

Alfie left yesterday and I'm sat in my office when Francis comes in with a small little box " my Shelby sorry to disturb but I found this while cleaning Maisie's room I thought you should see" I nod dismissing her

As I open the box I see razor blades a pocket knife few wipes and bandages. I feel anger take over and worry

I get my coat and leave going to Pollys house in small health

I walk in and put the box down in the table " what's that" I bitterly laugh and wave my hand at it and she shuts it looking at me " have you seen her" I ask she shakes her head and i sigh sitting down " no I know she went out with fin and a few friends be back later they said" I nod getting and pol goes into the den

Maisie's pov

I decided to stay at pols tonight instead and I walk in as fin and isiah walk on and see dad

He looks up at me and he looks pissed." Hey" I say smiling at him and he just stares at me and put a familiar box on the table " you recognise this" he says in a gruff voice I shake my head

" don't lie to me Maisie" I shift " yes okay I recognise it where did you find it" I know exactly what it holds " maisie sit down now" I look at the door knowing peaky boys are on the other side I sit and sigh and dad just burns holes into my soul

" show me" I swollow thickly it was visible " maisie I won't ask you again" his gruff voice I take off my blazer and role up my sleeves " maisie we spoke about this your gonna fucking kill yourself" I just listen to him rant on " maisie are you listening" I nod

" yeah" I mumble as he gets a chair and sits next to me " hey" he grabs my chin making me look at him " I said you can always come to me eH what happened when you always wanted me to read with you or when you just wanted me there ey I'm still your dad and I'm proud okay just please maisie if you get hurt I'll loose my fucking head" he kisses my cheek and he pulled me into him I put my head in his shoulder

" I'm sorry dad" he hums and rubs my back after a while we move to the couch and I put my head in dads lap " dad sing that song" I feel him chuckle " wow maisie your not 5 anymore" I pour giving him puppy eyes and he sighs as he starts

Tommys pov

Take a little walk to the edge of town
And go across the tracks
Where the viaduct looms

" daddy guess what" she runs in smiling with her boots on getting mud everywhere " go on tell me princess" i smile at her as I put her on my lap " I love you" she laughs and wiggles in my grip "how much do you princess"

She holds her arms wide measureing it " that much dad I love you lots" i hun and I stand up putting her on her feet she's 5 and is up to my hip " have you been to the horses" I ask crouching down to her level " no" she says quietly

" your ment to ask" she sighs putting crossing her arms " mummy wouldn't take me and mum said not to ask you because you was busy the horse was alone all night it had no one to cuddle" I see her tears fall as she storms out still with arms crossed banging mud off her boots

I walk to catch up with her and she's sat on the bottom of the stairs " come on let's go see the horses" she squeals and I smile as she runs out and down the stars falling on the gravel and shouting " I'm okay the horses " I didn't catch the rest

Maisie's snaps me out of my day dream when she mutters horses I lightly chuckle

You can't take the girl off the horse but nothing really changes
