(There's lots of Singing in this lol)
It took over a year to fix the Bifrost....even now that it's fixed I wasn't able to go back to earth. Mother and Father wanted me to train more. Practice my power.
It's paid off...I don't get tired easily anymore.
Loki was sentenced to life in the dungeons, Father demanded we don't see him but I'm not gonna listen to him. I know the real loki is there...I know he still cares.
I felt bad for Thor, he missed Jane. But I knew exactly how he was feeling. It's a terrible feeling to have....your heart feels empty.
Today was another bad day, I was missing Steve terribly. I was laying in my chamber alone, staring at my only photo of Steve. I hold it close to my heart as tears slip down my face.
"Y/N?" Mother slowly opens my door. "Oh honey." She sighs and walks over to me. I sit up for her to sit beside me, she opens hers arms and holds onto me as I lay my head in her lap. She smiles and slowly rubs my head, untangling any knots in my hair.
"Mother....can you sing to me?" I whisper.
"Of course, my love." She kisses my head. "I stormsvarte fjell, jeg vandrer alene. Over isbreen tar jeg meg frem. I eplehagen står møyen den vene. Og synger: 'når kommer du hjem?' Men trærne danser og fossene stanser. Når hun synger, hun synger 'kom hjem'
Men trærne danser og fossene stanser."(Let me know if you know what that's from.😁)
"My favorite." I smile.
We then sing together, "I stormsvarte fjell, jeg vandrer alene
Over isbreen tar jeg meg frem. I eplehagen står møyen den vene
Og synger: 'når kommer du hjem?' Men trærne danser og fossene stanser. Når hun synger, hun synger 'kom hjem' Men trærne danser og fossene stanser." This was more of a drinking song but I always loved hearing Mother sing it. I thought of Loki while singing it....we would also sing it together."You always have a beautiful voice." She whispers
"I get it from you, Mother." I giggle.
"You'll see him again." She whispers.
"I know....it's just hard being away for so long. We already spent seventy years apart." I sigh. "Father told me that I'll have to pick between Asgard and Steve."
"That's ridiculous." She chuckles. "You won't have to do that." She rubs my arm.
"Thank you Mother." I flip around to face her and hug her stomach.
"No matter what...I will always love you. You are my baby...always will be."
"And I love you too, Mother." I smile.
"What are my beautiful girls up to?" I sit up to see Father smiling at us.
"Nothing, dear...just chatting." Mother nods.
"I swear I hear singing." He sits beside me.
"We did that too." I smile.
"Can you sing for me?" Father asks.
"What about 'So ro, godt barn?'" Mother asks me.
(Play the song above of you want to listen to it!)
"Sure." I smile, thinking of the lyrics. "So ro, godt barn, Mor spinner blått garn. Far kjører plogen, søster går i skogen.
Søster gjeter sauene langt nord i hauene. Bukken går i lunden med lauv og gras i munnen." I repeat this but in a hushed voice, this was a lullaby some parents would sing.(Hush now, good child, Mother spins blue yarn. Father drives the plow, sister's walking in the woods. Sister's herding sheep far north in the hills. The goat's up in the grove with leaves and grass in his mouth.)
"Beautiful." Father claps.
"I miss when we would sing." I nod.
"Me too." Mother smiles. "Do you feel better now?"
"I do. Thank you."
"Why don't we go for a walk?" Father suggests.
"You both go ahead....I may rest for a bit." I nod.
"We love you." They both kiss my head.
I watch as they leave, waiting a few moments before sneaking out and down to the dungeons.
The guard lets me in Loki's cell. "Sister. You came to see me." He stands.
"I did." I bow my head.
"Were you singing?"
"How did you know that?" I ask, crossing my arms.
"I could hear you in my head. Did you use your power?" He sits back down.
"I thought of you...we sang it together once." I nod. "I must of reached out to you."
"You sounded beautiful. I miss those days."
"Well....it would still be like that if you hadn't betrayed people multiple times." I shrug.
"Oh, come on." He rolls his eyes.
"You know who's fault this is." I sit on a small stool in front of him.
"Sing for me." He lays down, staring at the ceiling.
"If that makes you happy...sure." I nod. "I stormsvarte fjell, jeg vandrer alene. Over isbreen tar jeg meg frem. I eplehagen står møyen den vene. Og synger: 'når kommer du hjem?' Men trærne danser og fossene stanser." Loki starts to sing with me as he closes his eyes, "Når hun synger, hun synger 'kom hjem' Men trærne danser og fossene stanser."
I smile and lay my head on my hand, watching as a soft smile spreads across his face. He was falling asleep.
I sing it again but this time with a hushed voice, "I stormsvarte fjell, jeg vandrer alene. Over isbreen tar jeg meg frem. I eplehagen står møyen den vene. Og synger: 'når kommer du hjem?' Men trærne danser og fossene stanser." I stop as his breathing slows down.
I stand and walk closer to the edge, waving a guard over. As the barrier opens, I turn back to Loki.
He was still there.
