Nat and I decided to get ready together before the party, mostly talking about the guys. Nat insisted on doing my hair as I did my own makeup.
"They're gonna go nuts over you."
"What?" I look at her through the mirror.
"The guys...maybe some girls too. They're gonna drool over you."
"That's funny...have you seen yourself? You are gorgeous Nat." I smile. I then turn to face her, "You know...if I wasn't with Steve, I'd be chasing after you."
Nat taps my nose and smiles, "That would be exciting....The Asgardian Princess chasing after simple me."
"There's nothing simple about you....your extraordinary"
"Thanks, Y/N." She smiles sweetly.
"Anyone special though? Bruce maybe?" I ask.
"I don't know." She shrugs, finishing my hair.
"Keep me updated."
We walk down to the party together and split up, first I run into Thor and Tony. "There's our Princess." Tony hugs me. "You look great."
"You too." I smile as he kisses my cheek.
"Sister, you look beautiful." Thor hugs me and kisses my head.
"I like the hair." I point, walking past them.
"Hey, Y/N." Rhodey, Clint and Bruce all wave at me.
"Hello, boys." I smile, looking ahead as I see Steve and Sam. "There you are."
"Y/N! It's so good to see you." Sam hugs me tight.
"I'm so happy you made it!" I smile as he kisses my cheek.
"There's my girl." Steve smiles and hugs me, lifting me off my feet. "You look beautiful." He leans down and kisses me. Steve then spins me, "Can I have a dance?"
"Of course, Mr. Rogers."
Steve takes my hand and leads me over as some soft music plays, we've danced many times together but this is our first in public. He always tells me that we weren't meant to be partners....that we dance perfect together.
Steve holds my hand and then wraps his other arm around me as I lay my head on his chest. I close my eyes and listen to his heartbeat as we sway, smiling to myself. "How would you feel...if you became Mrs. Rogers one day?" He whispers.
I pull back and smile up at him, "You want to marry me one day?"
"Of course I do." He pulls his hand up to rest against my face. I lean into his touch, "Your the only one for me. I want no one else....It's always been you."
"It's always been you." I smile as he leans down and kisses me.
After awhile, Steve and I split up to chat with others. But of course the whole night he kept watching me with a smile.
