«Ranielle»

I went home early today. Wala na rin naman kasi akong gagawin sa school, and I don’t hang out in the organization’s office anymore—I mean, nag i-stay pa rin naman ako doon but not so often like before. Marami kasi akong naaalala lalo na’t mag-isa ako.

“Baby sis ang aga mo yata?” Kuya Jarid glances over his shoulder.
I just nodded and smile. They continued the game.

Ilang linggo na rin hindi nagpapakita si Gene dito sa bahay. I wonder why hindi sya hinahanap nila kuya. Nakakataka kasi. They use to be so close.

“Kuya…?”

Kuya Jayron paused their game and looked at me.

“Bakit baby sis?” Jarid asked.

I gulped my hesitation.

“Bakit hindi na pumupunta si Gene dito? I mean—he always comes here to play with you guys, right?” I can’t believe I sounded so guilty right in front of them. I don’t have to ask, I am totally obvious.

“He’ll come if he still has the reason to come.” Jarid said, and then proceed with his game.

“Ha? What do you mean by that?” I stood right behind him.

“Dadating naman sya kung gusto nya diba?” Jarid insisted.

And that’s totally suspicious. He’s being defensive. Hindi ba nya nare-realize na psychology ang course ko?

“Did you guys fight?” I asked.

He’s been trying to hide something from me. I can feel it.

“That’s silly.” Jayron said. “Saan mo naman nakuha yan?” another defensive answer. Seriously, they have to spit it out.

“Fine, if you don’t want to talk. I’ll go upstairs and do not beg for me to make dinner. I’ll have pizza tonight.” I didn’t bother to look at their faces I went up and change my clothes. Pagkatapos ay bumaba na ulit ako. I grabbed the knob when Jarid stopped me.

“You’re being impolite Ranielle.” He said in a deep voice.

“And you’re expecting me to be a perfect kid who grew up without parents? Whoah Kuya, that’s too much.” I said pissed.

He was about to tellme something but Jarid held back whatever he wanted to tell.

I went out the house and groaned.

What’s wrong with me? Bakit ako nagkakaganito? I’m so frustrated about Gene and I can’t believe I’m taking it out on them.

Tears were about to fall from the edges of my eyes. I rolled my eyes and bit my lower lip and then I started walking until I didn’t know where I’m going.

“Ate Rain?”  I looked back and saw Dane. That’s when I realized I was about to cross the street.

“Oh, hi?” I pulled out my best smile for him.

“Saan ka pupunta?”  He asked.

I didn’t know where I’m going too.

“Anong ginagawa mo dito mag-isa?” I asked and ignored his question.

“Aalis kami ni kuya kaso naiwan nya yung wallet nya kaya hinihintay ko sya dito.”

When suddenly someone came running towards us “Dane. Ok na Let’s go.” It was Drake.

“Bae!” He greeted me. “Gusto mong sumama samin?”

“Hindi na.” I shoved my hand in my pockets and smiled.
