Chapter 13

 
I woke up in total darkness.

I opened my eyes but I can't see even just a glimpse of light.

What happened?

Did I just woke up in the middle of the night? Ilang araw na ba kong tulog? Hindi maganda to, mukhang ang dami ko ng namiss na subject.

I got up from bed but I twitched as soon as I felt a sudden pain from my legs.

Oo nga pala. I tripped last time. Ang sakit ng katawan ko even my head hurts because of my fever.May lagnat pa din ako but not like the last time na tulog na lang ako ng tulog.

I even dreamed about Gene.Tss. But it feels so real. I dreamt that he was here.. That he's worried that I got sick.. That I just told him I like him. PACKING TAPE. There's no way I would say that. It was probably a dream after all. Is it?

I searched for my cellphone under my pillow using my hands.

I checked the time. It's 1:56am.

I should probably go back to sleep. Pero paano ako makakatulog? I'm totally wide awake now. Di bale na lang kung i-untog ko sarili ko sa pader.

I place my phone on my bedside table when a small chain-like thing fell down from it.

Inilawan ko agad ang kung anong bagay na nalaglag gamit ang cellphone ko and I was surprised to see the necklace Gene gave me.

My heart sank on its place. After that was a rapid heartbeat I never felt before.

OMG. If the necklace is here. Then Gene must have been here?

Did I talk to him like what I said in my dreams? If I did, ibig sabihin... I really told him that I... No. It can't be. Keep calm Ranielle. It couldn't have been real. And if it IS real.. then I'll just tell him that I was so sick that I even forgot what I told him or I was in hysteria that I'm talking incredible non sense things.. Yeah, that's right.. Nice job brain.

The night went over smoothly nang makatulog ulit ako, late din akong nagising but I did my best to go to school again. Ayaw pa nga nila kuya pero mas ayaw ko na ayaw nila, kaya wala silang magagawa.

I was walking inside the campus kahit na hindi pa ganun ka-okay ang pakiramdam ko. I don't want to miss another class. Tama na yung isang araw na rest. Iiinom ko na lang ng gamot 'to mamaya.

"Good morning bae!" Drake greeted running after me.

Aba kung san san na lang talaga sumusulpot 'tong lalaking 'to!

"What?" I looked at him sharply. "Good na yung morning ko kaso nakita pa kita. Ayan.. nasira na."

"Wow, ang sweet mo naman bumati ng 'Good Morning din'. Na-touch ako ah?" Drake said grinning at me.

Ay bwiset. Bahala ka dyan.

"Bakit ba ang aga-aga mo mambwiset?" I asked him. I'm not totally annoyed nasasanay na ata ako sa mga kalokohan nito.

"Kasi na-miss kita." He said directly.

"So? Hindi ko gustong malaman yan."

He shrugged his shoulder in a cute way—wait. No, erase the "cute" word.

"Okay ka na?" He asked me.

I nodded my head at him."thank you nga pala."

"Anong thank you lang? May kapalit yun. Pero ang daldal pala ng kuya mo." He said looking everywhere except me.

"Anong madaldal?" I asked him. Nakausap nya kuya ko? "At anong kapalit naman? Sana di mo na lang ako tinulungan kung di naman pala bukal sa loob mo Drake."
