Chapter 24: Zeth
As the robot comes through the rift, it lands in Merador, trees being crushed beneath its feet. It’s just a hunk of metal, but it knows exactly what it’s doing. My shadow lord necklace is attached to the roof of the head, whereas I’m in restraints on the head’s far wall. Dad tricked me into letting the necklace’s power control the robot instead of me.
If I was to come to Merador, it would be to see Jinx or one of the faithfuls. Not to trample the wildlife on my father’s quest to ruin my social status as a good guy. But, in my opinion, I think Jinx has a disliking of getting kidnapped and will probably have a plan up her sleeve. It’s very hard to miss a 6 storey robot thumping through the forest.
I look out the window at the front of the robot towards the sun.
“I’m sorry.” I whisper, thinking that the faithfuls can hear me. “I never wanted to turn this into a battle of dark and light.” I stare at the ball of light sitting in the sky, like its rays were guarding everything below it. But when I look closer, I see a black dot sitting in the centre of the sun. It blasts forward, with black leathery wings keeping it in the air. A dragon.
A little blue figure jumps off its back and blasts through the stomach region of the robot. An alarm starts blaring in my ears. Signifying that something- or someone- has busted in.
Well, shit.
