Chapter 9: Jinx

When I regain consciousness, I’m in a small chamber, the walls black as night. It is only now that I realise that I’m chained to one of the walls, my hands together behind my back. One of my belts is gone, so the right side of my jeans hangs down a little. I look up just as two people walk into the chamber. One was Raiku; the other was the girl who kidnapped me.

“I’m sorry we had to get you here this way.” Raiku says sarcastically. “My associate here is Jazzmozzelle Roulette. She and I both believe that destruction should rule the dimensions, because it makes people appreciate their lives. And if I am to complete my vision, it requires your friend, who I believe is named Zeth. Sorry, I just had to get all of that out. I cut to the chase.” I have a look of disgust on my face.

“He won’t willingly become your slave.” I spit.

“Oh I’m sure Mr happy-go-lucky will want to come to me unless he wants his friends to be travellers of a black nothingness.”

“What the hell are you talking about?”

“I’m saying that if he doesn’t hand his title of shadow lord over to me, I will keep the souls of all the ones he holds dear. That’s why you’re here. He clearly has a liking to you.” He smirks down at me.

Would he really do it? I mean, in a general sense it’s either Brandon, Muse, Ursa and I or every dimension turning to hell.

“And the lovely part about this whole plan is that they’ll probably come to rescue you anyway. This means Jazzmozzelle doesn’t have to go commando again to get them.” At this comment, Jazzmozzelle looks sad, like she loved hunting down people. He laughs and walks out of the room, with Jazzmozzelle pointing her middle finger at me and following Raiku out of the chamber. They talk to a guard outside, and say specific instructions I can’t hear. I just wait for the demise that was meant to be a rescue as I am pulled to my feet and taken to a room at the end of the hall. In the centre was a metal pole with hand clasps on either side. Time to face the pain.
