Chapter 8: Zeth
I wake up to Ursa shaking my frantically. She’s saying something, but it was only when she said it the fourth time I understood it.
“Have you seen Jinx?”
“No...She was in her hammock when I went to sleep. She’s probably gone out for a walk or something.”
Ursa starts pacing as I unravel the labyrinth of sheets I have created.
“She would tell us... she always tells us if she’s leaving...” Brandon and Muse were nowhere to be seen. Probably gone out to find Jinx.
“I’ve been waiting for you to wake up.” She says. “Come on, the boys think they’ve found something.” I put my jacket on and follow Ursa into the woods. Around the area of the tree are Brandon and Muse. They look down at something, which I soon realise as one of Jinx’s two belts and her reflex. Further into the woods, there was a small trail of animal tranquilisers from the Solar Dimension stuck in trees.
“We think she got kidnapped.” Brandon says. “By who? We don’t know.”
“Probably by Raiku.” I say. “He was eyeing Jinx like she was something precious...”
“Well we need to track down Raiku anyway, so it wouldn’t hurt to rescue Jinx at the same time.” Ursa points out.
“We need a plan though Ursa.” Muse says. ‘We can’t just expect to walk on in there and expect Raiku to be a gentleman and hand over Jinx, if he has her at all. Zeth, you’ve actually faced him before right?”
“I was only young when he tried to first attack me. So my only instinct was to run.” I say shyly.
“Well then you’re no use to us then are you?” Muse yells.
“Muse! Give him a break.” Ursa interrupts. “He doesn’t have the answer to everything.”
“First thing is first,” Brandon says loudly. “We need to find where Raiku and any of his associates are. Or we could turn up in the middle of nowhere and only find some shrubs and some trouble. Zeth, do you know where Raiku used to mainly stay?” He turns to me.
“He had a ruined castle in the Hell Dimension. If he is anywhere, he’s there.” Let’s just hope Jinx is there too. I don’t want her hurt... she seems too innocent.
“Let’s set off then shall we? You know the transportation symbol for the Hell Dimension don’t you Zeth?” Ursa asks.
“Yes, but...”
“But what?”
“I don’t know where the castle is.”
Ursa pinches the bridge of her nose. “That makes things a whole lot harder...Who feels like wandering around hell for a little while?”
“From what I remember, it’s quite big. You should be able to spot it from a mile away.”
“It’s not just the location we need.” Muse holds the belt and reflex in his hand. “We need a plan. One that won’t get us killed.”
“That is very smart, Muse.” Ursa smiles. “Let’s get a plan.”
