Chapter 35

Tfboys and the other boys couldn't follow Jia Yee and her parents back to the hospital because of work.

Jia Jia was shocked when her parents entered her hospital room. Nana jie left the room the moment they entered because Uncle Lao Shen told her to.

"Mum??? Dad?? What are you both doing here???" She asked, staring at them with her huge saucer eyes.

"Oh my darling! What happened to you??" Her mum cried as she rushed forward and cradled Jia Jia in her arms.

"..uhm..." Jia Jia trailed off as she looked at Jia Yee with questions in her eyes.

"Why are they here?"
"Are we gonna be in trouble?"
"...What's going to happen?"

Their stares were translated into questions between the twin. And sadly, none can answer the questions.

"Jia Jia." Her dad stepped forward, blocking Jia Yee from her view.

"Yes, dad?"

"Since I know Jia Yee isn't going to answer me truthfully, let me ask you a question."

Jia Jia nodded as she squared her shoulders, looking at her father.

"Why did you come even though I told you not to?" Her dad asked.

Jia Jia looked into his eyes and noticed the tiredness in his eyes. His eyebags were deeper than before and somehow, he looked older.

'Did we really make you that worried...until you look like this?' Jia Jia thought, choking on her tears that were building up inside of her.

"Dad. I'm sorry...we're sorry. But we had to come. It was our dream to become singers." Jia Jia answered truthfully.

"Even if it meant to disobey your dad?" He asked again. His hair seemed whiter than before.

'Did we really stressed you out this much?' Jia Jia thought again. Her eyes turned red at the thought of her dad becoming older due to stress and then slowly passing away...because of her. Because of them.

"I'm sorry dad." She mumbled, the tears she was holding in not being able to stay still anymore. They fell.

Her dad looked at her with creased eyebrows, disappointment in his eyes. He turned around but before he did, Jia Jia noticed how red his eyes were too.

This broke her heart. Because her dad had never shown himself being vulnerable before. Never.

"Dad..." Jia Yee spoke up, her voice cracking.

"We're sorry." She said.

Their mum patted Jia Jia's back and walked over to their father.

"Dear..." she whispered, patting his back.

There were a few sniffing sounds as Jia Yee made her way to the hospital bed.

"Dad," Jia Jia said as she held hands with Jia Yee, "We really are sorry. Even if this means we have to disobey you. But won't you let us achieve our dream? Of becoming a singer?"

Her dad took in a few deep breath before he turned around and said with a shaky voice, "Take me to your CEO."
