"Bro, I've got a joke for you." Luke grinned at Michael who was downing a can of iced tea and a bag of Doritos. Michael groaned in response at Luke and he took that as an okay to tell Michael his fabulous joke.
"What's the joke Luke." Michael said, more as an annoyed statement.
"What's cheese that's not yours?" Luke giggled slightly, Michael stared at him blankly and blinked a few times before he continued.
"You have to say what!" Luke mumbled, pushing Michael's shoulder.
"What?!" The boy with freshly dyed blue/purple hair shouted at Luke.
"Nacho cheese."
"How old are you Luke? 5 or almost 18." Michael deadpanned before returning his sight on the TV.
"I'm not 5." He groaned, crossing his arms over his chest.
"You act like it! But then sometimes you act all badass and then back to five year old Luke. Find your chill mate." Michael chuckled before walking to the washroom and leaving Luke alone.
It had been a few days since Luke had saw Sam, expect for casual glances at each other in the hallways. She wasn't at school the other day and thoughts of why she wasn't there came into his mind but he pushed them away, assuming she was just ill or something. Luke had seen Calum with Sam last time she was at school, for some reason that made Luke feel weird inside but he couldn't quite figure out what that feeling was exactly.
Luke had never been in love before, he pretty much just screwed girls since that's the only thing he was good at, in his mind. Michael had told Luke that being in love was lame and you shouldn't attach yourself to just one person, and Luke had always went along with thinking like that.
But was that way the best way to think? Luke started thinking about if maybe Michael was wrong, it's just that Michael is never wrong.
"You okay to get home on your own? Stacy is coming over for a little, you know." Michael made a thrusting motion as Luke's face turned sour, he bid Michael a goodbye before heading to the nearest bus stop.
He impatiently waited for the bus to arrive at his stop, tapping his foot on the ground over and over as if that would make things go faster. Sighing, he changed the song on his phone to Fall Out Boy's Irresistible.
The bus pulled up finally and he got on quickly as he felt a rain drop hit the side of his face and a rumble of thunder, there was a storm coming. His eyes scanned the partly empty bus as usual until he landed on a girl in the back who just so happened to be Sam, he smirked to him self as he took a seat next to her.
"God! You scared me." Sam yelled, causing an older lady to turn around to her and making Sam blush at how loud she was.
"It's fun, sorry princess." Luke chuckled as he popped a piece of gum into is mouth, smirking as she watched him do so.
"Why haven't you been at school?" Luke asked with a concerned tone, his fuckboy persona slipping away.
"I love how you act all badass, chewing your gum and the next second you're all cute and concerned." She rolled her eyes with a small smile.
"I like it when you smile." Luke said slowly, slightly catching Sam off guard but she just started at him, not sure how to thank him for the compliment since that wasn't her speciality.
"But really, why weren't you at school?" Luke asked again after a few minutes of complete silence between the pair.
"Just a family thing." Sam mumbled, not sounding very convincing but he didn't push it. They both got off at the same stop minutes later and the rain poured down even harder, causing her to squeal the slightest as she slowly got soaked.
"Shit I should have brought an umbrella." Sam whined as she put her backpack over her head to protect it from the rain. Luke started to pull off his sweater and she shook her head as he tried to offer her his sweater.
"That's too cliché, no way." She laughed and pushed the sweater away as they hurried down the street.
"It's too cliché to be dry?" Luke asked furrowing his eyebrows and chuckled at her, running a hand through his damp hair.
"No, it's too cliché for a guy to give a girl his sweater." Sam rolled her eyes as if this was totally obvious, she pulled her damp hair into a pony tail as she regularly did.
"Just take my sweater, then we'll go to my place until the storm is over." Luke pleaded. She finally accepted and slipped the slightly damp sweater over her small frame, it was a grey with black striped sweater and it was a little big for her.
"No more clichés, they make me throw up." She wagged his finger at Luke as they crossed a street. He raised his hands in surrender and giggled slightly at her.
"See! There you go again, fuckboy and then giggly!" Sam pointed out, rolling her eyes at his mood changes.
"Seriously what the hell is a fuckboy." He asked confusedly, furrowing his eyebrows together as he always did when he was confused with something.
"I told you to look it up, asshole."
Luke laughed at her once again as they stepped into his house, it was fairly large, Luke's parents weren't home so they were alone for the time being. He walked her into the kitchen and they set their bags down on the table, Luke quickly ran up stairs and grabbed her a towel to dry off with.
"Thanks." Sam said quietly, she wasn't sure if she liked being nice to him or not but Luke certainly liked the nice side of her. He guided her to the couch and they sat down in silence, only the sound of a light rumble of lighting was heard outside.
The thunder soon got louder, causing Sam to flinch at the sudden noise. Luke slowly moved towards her on the couch and laid one arm over her shoulder, pulling her into his chest.
"What are you doing?" She asked just under a whisper, as if someone would hear them.
"Just go with it." He said, pulling her in tighter and rubbing circles on the top of her hair. They laid there in silence, peacefully laying in the comfort of each other as a storm came through, nothing more cliché than this situation but right now, all Sam could worry about is how she enjoyed the embrace of Luke's arms.
"I've got a question." Luke said, breaking the silence, Sam hummed in response.
"Are there fuckgirls?" He asked and she rolled her eyes, though he couldn't really see her.
"I don't think so."
"Well, I'm making that a thing now. You are the first official fuckgirl."
