Jaceon. He stood out on the porch, holding a sack containing food and two movies. He looked handsome in the Dior striped sweatshirt, cargo shorts, and Air Force Nike sneakers. He flashed me that smile, coming in close to me.
"Chinese and movies?" Jaceon suggested.
I glanced at the movies in his hand. "Scooby-Doo?"
"You told me it was one of favorite movies. Besides, I fuck wit the second movie heavy." he confessed making me chuckle as well. "So, can I come in?"
"Jace..." I sighed, leaning on the doorframe. "The kids are here."
"Which is the reason why I bought a bunch of egg rolls." he gestured the bag of Chinese food, "They told me how much they like dipping it in the duck sauce. I got a lot of that too. You know how stingy they be with that sauce."
True. "Jaceon—"
"Jace!" Footfalls rushed quickly behind me, before I was moved over and the kids hugged Jaceon.
Jaceon's smile was big and genuine. "What up kiddos! Y'all want Chinese?"
"Depends," Gunner took a step back. "You have duck sauce?"
"A whole lot of it."
"Then we want it." Gunner retrieved one of the bags of food and raced inside.
"Hey! I want to hold it!" Misty raced behind him with Heidi.
"Don't spill it! Go to the movie room!" I hollered behind as their footsteps receded. I let out a breath, turning to Jaceon and he grinned goofily at me, flashing the movies. "You might as well come in now."
Jaceon stepped in and I closed and locked the door. "I hope you gotta DVD player."
"I'm from the hood. Of course I have a DVD player." I stared around for a moment. "Well I gotta find it."
Jaceon chuckled. "I'll help you. But first..." he moved in front of me, kissing me gently. He pulled back, our faces only inches apart, smiling. "How was your girls trip?"
