Naina felt something amiss. Preeti didn't join them for breakfast at Canteen.
Swati planned to break the ice between them but neither Naina nor Preeti knew about it.
Grabbing her school stuff, she quickly walked towards Swati's class for the upcoming joint classes.
I will meet Preeti for sure now.
Moreover, I have to answer Swati's questions today.
First and foremost, I must get my diary back.
Instructing her brain, she walked into the class which was no lesser than a zoo.
Students were running here and there, with benches pushed to the corners making space in middle.
All were standing in groups with notebooks in hand.
Few were busy rolling papers into balls.
Are they going to play cricket?
I have seen movies and videos where people used to play like this.
What if they get caught?
Just a second...Is it a free period today?
Naina looked around.
Not even a single girl in the class. Where are they?
"Naina."
I heard someone calling. It was Rihaan.
"Girls are asked to report to 'H' section as it is a free period today. No staff is available for acting. I checked with the head boy."
"Hmm."
'H' section? Where is it?
By then Rihaan had backed off and was busy searching for a coin to toss.
By then she saw Rithi.
"Hi."
"Hello, Dude. It's a free period and we are asked to report to the library."
"Free period? For computer science students too?"
"Yeah. All teachers are busy with upcoming science exhibition so..."
"Oh! We are asked to report to the 'H' section and I don't know where it is located."
I felt ashamed to say that but still...
"It's in the first-floor old building."
Rithi replied.
"Thank you."
Sameer was walking towards the library.
Munna and Pundit were busy gossiping about things and he was least interested in listening to them.
Entering the library, he hushed Munna and Pundit to be silent.
"It's the library. Maintain silence."
Munna nodded.
Sameer made way to the bookshelves.
He was checking the books to read and that's when he saw
Vineet Bajpai's Harrapa.
"I have heard about this book somewhere." He thought and memories flashed in his mind.
Flashback.
Lunchtime.
Sameer was busy stuffing the chapatti made by his mom into his mouth when he heard a giggle from the girl's side.
"Guess what? I bought Vineet Bajpai's Kashi book, the last instalment of the Harappa series."
Naina declared.
"When did you even..." Preeti reacted with her eyes ready to bulge out of her sockets.
"Yesterday," Naina said with a cheeky smile.
"Is that book so good?" Grace asked.
"It will be nice." Preeti said with enthusiasm, "It's Naina's favourite series in fact."
"Exactly but not more than that of books of Amish Tripathi." Naina declared as she ate lemon rice.
"This one." Sameer pulled out the Harappa book.
"You chose a book?" Munna asked with his eyebrows raised.
"Hmm."
"Harappa," Munna arched his eyebrow, "When did the great Sameer Maheswari start reading Historical fiction?"
"Heard from someone that this book can be given a try," Sameer hid his goofy grin with a stern face.
It's hard to mask my emotions. How can she do that easily?
Naina walked inside the classroom.
The girls were busy gossiping and were in groups of more than three huddled near the walls of the area. Occasionally, a random group erupted with laughter hence gaining others' attention.
One group at the corner was hers. She could see Grace, Kamya, Hema, Preeti and Ananya laughing while Swati was explaining something with enthusiasm and worth watching expressions.
"Hey, Naina," Hema called noticing her.
"Hi, Hema," Naina greeted back, "Hello all."
"Where were you," Grace asked, " You left the class first and arriving here at last."
"I went to 'F' section," Naina explained, "After knowing that it's a free period from the guy there, I came here."
It was no random guy but Rihaan.
"Let me continue," Swati signalled, "And I will narrate the initial sequences to Naina between,"
"What are you guys talking about,"
"We will say,"
Swati took a deep breath and was about to begin when,
"Naina," A voice boomed inside the classroom, gaining everyone's attention.
