My first day at being a waitress and was so excited! I got to work early and quickly changed into my uniform. A dusty pink dress with a cute, white apron in front. I decided to go for a ponytail because I didn't want my hair disturbing me. I little lip gloss to keep my lips from drying out and a small note pad for taking down the customer's orders. I felt so alive and I really wanted to make a good impression on my first day. In total there were 10 workers at the restaurant, so far I knew that we were 3 waitresses, all female. Only 4 employees had clocked in and I was happily greeting people that were passing by the restaurant, I didn't mind.
"Good morning!" I smiled at a guy about my age that was coming my way.
"Good morning," he smiled back as he took a turn and entered the restaurant.
I stopped and looked at him. Had I just attracted a customer?! I quickly ran inside to assist him. "What would you like to have this beautiful morning? Pancakes? Scrambled eggs? Maybe you'd like to see our menu?" I said to him as I pulled out a menu.
He stopped in his footsteps and turned to me. "Your personality is vibrant and I love it. Unfortunately, I'm not a customer," he smiled as he stretched out his hand for a handshake. "Jesse is the name."
"If you're not a customer then what are you doing in here?" I asked, confused.
"Don't worry about me. I believe you're new here. I'm not a stranger here and if you don't mind, I'm in a hurry," he said as walked past me to Miss Jane's office. I went back outside as I was more of a morning person and again, I wanted to make a good impression on my first day. Jesse walked out of the restaurant an hour later but I was busy taking people's orders. Nevertheless, I got to know my fellow work colleagues. Claudia and Elizabeth were the two waitresses that I talked about. Everyone at the restaurant seemed nice. I only worked for 6 hours but it didn't seem long. Miss Jane hadn't come to work and I was now home, fixing something to eat. As I was watching some documentaries, my phone rang.
On the phone: "Afternoon," said Dr.Jamal.
"Hey doc, how are you?" I asked.
"Not too bad and yourself?"
I took a sip from my glass and leaned back into the sofa. "I'm tired, I guess."
""That reminds me, how was your first day at work?" he asked, sounding interested.
A smile lit my face as I rolled onto my stomach to explain how my day at work went. "Go out with me in a few?" He asked.
I just stared silently at the phone. What did he mean by that? "Hello?"
Clearing my throat. "Yeah, uhm...sure."
"Great! Come outside."
I almost chocked on my saliva. "Already?" I asked, really surprised.
"Come as you are."
"In my pyjamas?"
"Yeah."
Well, I looked down at myself as I thought of how people would react to my overall pyjamas and fluffy slippers. As I stepped out of the house, I noticed Dr.Jamal outside, leaning against his car. When he saw my approaching, he walked over to the passenger's side and opened the door for me. I gave him a side hug and entered the car. A long drive later, he pulled up at a riverside. We got out of the car and he led me to a picnic site. I looked around as I saw no one in sight but the fruits and snacks that I saw on the sheet really surprised me. "What's all this for?" I managed to ask.
"Just something small for us. I like getting away from everything and everyone, and just spend my time enjoying myself," he told me as he kicked off his shoes and got on the sheet.
"I have noticed," I said as I did the same and sat across from him. "And I have also noticed that the time away is mostly spent with me."
He looked down at me as he opened the bottle of wine and poured for the both of us. He handed me my glass and he had his. "Cheers to us," he smiled.
"Why are you doing all this?" I asked, curious.
"Because I fancy you."
I just smiled at him as I realised that I didn't have a reply. Dr.Jamal liked me. Distracting myself with the view of the river, he unknowingly got closer to me. Honestly speaking, I didn't know how to feel. Was I supposed to be excited? I guess I was weird because I had no reaction whatsoever. "Beautiful, isn't it?" Said Dr.Jamal.
"Yes, very peaceful, too," I responded as I took a drink from my glass.
"I was talking about you," he corrected as he placed a kiss on my neck.
I quickly broke my gaze with the river and focused on his. Before I could respond, he kissed me. I pushed him back as I stood up and wore my slippers. "What's wrong?" He asked, confused.
"I want to go home," I said in a straight tone.
"Why? I thought we were just beginning to enjoy ourselves."
"I can't stay here. We can't do it. I'm sorry."
He bit his lips together as I noticed a bit of anger manifesting onto his face. I honestly couldn't dishonour my body like that. Even my father would not approve of it. Yes, he was handsome and he rich but I didn't feel the same way. I couldn't bring myself to even think of losing my virginity before marriage. It was just wrong.
