I walked back into my dorm room, clutching my pills. Pansy was just beginning to wake as I came back. "Morning sleepy head" I laughed. "Where have you been? The common room again?" I wanted to say yes but that was only half true. I can't lie to my best friend.

"Actually, I went to see Snape" she shot up and stared at me blankly. "What are those?" she questioned. I looked down at my hands and saw that I was still clutching the pills. "Oh, these? They're just antidepressants" I said like it was nothing.

"And Snape gave you those?" she said in disgust. I nodded slowly. "What? Why is he handing out drugs like they're nothing? Does McGonagall know?" I shook my head and she quickly got up out of bed.

I ran to the door to stop her from doing anything stupid. "Pansy don't! I know it probably looks odd from your perspective but he gave them to me to help... and they aren't drugs!" she folded her arms over her chest and scoffed. "Help, how?"

I took a deep breath, "help with the pain. I keep reliving what happened over and over again so I went to see him. He said that these would help and give me some relief. But I promised to only take the amount that it states, and I will!" I added extra emphasis on the last part to make it clear. I wasn't looking to join my parents, just have some of the pain and trauma taken from me.

"Okay, I'm sorry for questioning his judgement. But you know that you can talk to me!" "What? When you're away with the fairies and snoring your pretty little head off?" I joked. She playfully hit me and yelled, "I do not snore!"

I gave her an 'are you sure' look. And she just shook her head smiling. I couldn't help but feel smug.

"Come on, we need to get dressed and grab some breakfast. We still have lessons to attend to" I sighed. "Wait, what have we got first?" Pansy asked hopefully. I pulled out my timetable and sniggered.

"Are you going to tell me or?" she said sternly. "Potions" I laughed. She let out the loudest grunt, you'd have thought she was a beast. "I don't think he is in a good mood either, I woke him up pretty early this morning" I said, to wind her up further.

"Oh Y/N. You're kidding" she whined as I shook my head. She threw a pillow off me before walking into the bathroom. I observed the back of the tablets I was given. I read a bunch of strange, long words that I'd never heard of before until I got to a part that I understood, 'to help lessen the symptoms of depression and anxiety'

Well obviously? I read on to see 'take 2-3 tablets a day. Do not exceed the limit. It should take up to 7 days before the effects should begin to take place'

Fantastic I thought to myself. I just shrugged and took one, I swallowed it easily and put the box in my bedside table drawer. I then walked over to my wardrobe and pulled out my robes. It brought me so much joy to wear green, it is definitely my favourite colour!

"Y/N have you seen my hairbrush anywhere?" I heard Pansy shout from inside the bathroom. I looked around the messy room and found it on the floor by her bed. I picked it up then opened the door slightly to pass it in for her. "Here" I said quietly. "Thanks. Are you alright?" she asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine thanks. I'll meet you in the great hall" I shouted before walking out.

It didn't take me long to reach the great hall but when I got there, I scanned the room for the golden trio. I saw them sitting silently at the Gryffindor table along with Luna.

I made my way over to them but as I did, I locked eyes with Snape. He gave me a soft smile, which I returned and sat down. "What was that?" Ron asked me. I looked at him puzzled. He cocked his head and gestured towards Snape.

I hadn't realised he had seen. "Oh, that was nothing". But Ron wouldn't let it go. "He smiled at you? And you smiled back!" he said as if it was against the law? "Ronald. Must you question everything that Snape does?" Hermione scolded.

He immediately shut up and I silently thanked her. I couldn't be bothered for another interrogation this morning. I sat and tried to eat my toast but I couldn't stomach it, so I just stared at it.

"Y/N? Is everything alright?" Hermione asked. I suddenly looked up and met her curious eyes. "What? Oh, yeah. Everything's fine Mione, thanks". I hate being fussed over, if I get asked that one more time today I think I'm going to cry.

I silently got up and headed to potions early since there was nothing else to do.

I made it to the dungeons and pushed the classroom door open. Snape was sitting at his desk marking essays, without looking up he said, "good morning Y/N. Again" I said nothing and sat straight down in my seat, putting my head in my hands.

I felt him get up and walk towards me. 'Please don't ask me if I'm alright' I begged him in my mind. "Are you alright?" DAMN IT

I slowly sat up and nodded, taking a deep breath. "Have you taken anything since I gave them to you?" he asked quietly. "Yes Professor. Only one though" I said with a small smile. He nodded once then walked back to his desk as people began to pile into the classroom.

Pansy came and sat next to me. "You were supposed to meet me in the great hall" she huffed. I completely forgot what I had said. "Oh, sorry Pansy. Ron was annoying me and I just had to leave" I sighed.

"Oh right. He's a cow sometimes" she said rolling her eyes, making me giggle. Snape noticed and was straight over to our desk. "Something funny ladies?" he monotonously spoke. We shook our heads and put them down, continuing to work.

We felt his presence disappear and let out a sigh of relief. "Thank God for that. I wonder why he didn't take any points from our house" Pansy whispered. I just shrugged. I sure hope he isn't being nice to me purely out of pity.
