Chapter 29

Halloween night

There was a knock at my door as I sat getting ready. "Who is it?" I called out. "Well if you let me in Y/N, you'll find out" she called from the other side of the door. Recognising the voice, I stood up and ran to the door.

As it swung open, Pansy flung her arms around me. "HEY!" she squealed, hugging me tightly. "Pansy! It's been a while, what are you doing here?" she released me and looked at me strangely. "It's Halloween Y/N... the ball?"

"What ball? I don't know anything about a ball" I sarcastically replied, earning me a playful smack on the arm. "I hate you sometimes" Pansy giggled, I rolled my eyes and pulled her into the bedroom.

"Are you staying over tonight?"

"Yeah, with Draco obviously" she shot me a wink and I fake gagged. "What? It's not like you and Narcissa don't share a room and commit profanities" my eyes widened at her comment. She realised what had just came out of her mouth as her hand slowly drew towards her face.

"Oops" I raised my eyebrows and laughed. "It's fine Pansy. I mean you're not wrong but you really need to keep a lid on it"

She bit her lip and nodded. "But have you? You know had-"

"Yes" her jaw dropped.

"MERLIN Y/N WHEN?"

"Well, we have a few times but the last was only a few days ago... on the dining table" I put my fingers to her chin and pushed her mouth closed, "that's better" I scoffed.

"Sorry... Do you have a death wish though Y/N? Anyone could have walked in, merlin forbid a house-elf... poor things"

"HA, you seem to be forgetting who I am with. Pansy, of course I have a death wish. Narcissa is the ex-wife of a death eater and don't forget who her sister is!"

Pansy face palmed as I stood up to show her my outfit. I took it out of the wardrobe and told her to close her eyes. I pulled it out of the bag and said I was ready. My heart filled with nerves as this wasn't your typical ball gown.

Pansy looked at the outfit and a huge smile plastered across her lips. "Y/N! That really screams lesbian... BUT I LOVE IT"

(I know that this is Cate's character from oceans 8 but I want to be able to rock something this style the way that she does. Plus it is beautiful and why not destroy stereotypes!)

"You could have used any other word to describe this outfit and you chose the word lesbian? Really, Pansy?" I laughed, she wasn't wrong of course but I mean...

"Well, yeah. I can't wait to see you in it though! You're going to look amazing" I offered her a cheesy smile. "I only hope Narcissa doesn't hate it. It's not exactly ball material"

"She won't hate it Y/N. You are beautiful and she is clearly in love with you, what you're wearing won't change that" I gave Pansy a light smile and returned to getting dressed.

Later at the ball

My head was filled with nerves. I couldn't wait to see Narcissa's reaction. Her reaction to the first ball is still embedded in my mind.

I made it to the top of the stairs, and just like before she was stood at the bottom. Her back was to me as I began to descend the staircase.

The green jumpsuit glistened in the candlelight as I made my entrance. Pansy gestured for Narcissa to turn around. As she did, her face lit up.

Love burst through my chest for the woman as her jaw dropped. Our eyes met and fireworks went off in my brain. She looked stunning, I couldn't calculate how to breathe.

"Y/N! How lovely for you to join us" Narcissa smirked, mindful of the surrounding guests. "Interesting choice of ball gown Y/N" Bellatrix commented.

"Do you like it?" I asked sheepishly. "It looks wonderful darling" Bella exclaimed, causing me to blush.

"Now, now Bella. Remember who she belongs to" she whispered to her sister. I felt sudden wetness however, I chose to ignore it. It's for the best.

I looked over at Draco who clearly heard what was just said. He looked pale and as if he was about to throw up.

"Mrs Malfoy, you look incredible" I bit my lip and smiled. She winked before walking away with her sister.

"Y/N you have got to stop doing that?" Draco spat. I looked at him in confusion, "doing what?"

"Biting your bloody lip at my mother!" he whisper shouted.

I couldn't help but laugh. "Sorry, Draco. She is just very irresistible" He turned on his heel and walked away in a mood. Pansy giggled then waved me goodbye.
