WARNING: Blood
"I'm back!" Remus sang. Janus didn't look up from his plans.
"Hey, sweetheart." He said. "How'd it go?"
Remus laughed and didn't answer. Janus rolled his eyes and looked up.
"Rem, I asked- Holy shit, you're bleeding!" Janus half jumped out of his chair. "Who did that to you?" He asked, his tone already turning dangerous. "I swear to God, I'll-"
"Jan, sugar, calm down." Remus said. He wiped some of the blood from his cheek. "It's not my blood, look." He held his baseball bat out towards Janus. Sure enough, it was covered in blood too. He laughed. "Were you worried about me, sugar?"
Janus rolled his eyes and sat back down. "We're not having this conversation now." He said. "Go take a shower before you stink up my whole planning room with blood." Remus ran off, out the door. "And be quick about it, Rem!" Janus called after him. "I wanna discuss what happened!"
There was a breath on the back of Janus' neck. "Hey, sugar."
Janus grabbed Remus by his jacket and pressed a dagger to his throat. He jumped and dropped the dagger quickly.
"Habit." He muttered, letting go of Remus' jacket.
Remus shrugged and sat down next to Janus. "It's fine." He said, knowing that was the closest Janus would get to an apology. He put his feet up on the table. "So, what're we planning?"
"I'll tell you if you get your damn feet off the table." Janus said, organising some of the notes scattered around the table. Remus rolled his eyes and put his feet down on the ground with a thump.
"Good." Janus said. "So, what happened today?"
Remus grinned and leaned back in his chair. "Well, the idiots brought their weakest link out into the field."
"Storm?" Janus asked. Remus shook his head. "Magpie?" Another wrong answer. "Hero?" Remus shook his head again, grinning like anything. "Those are the only heroes, Rem, who else-"
"It wasn't a hero." Remus said. "It must've been their planner guy. Bubbly blue, square glasses, bouncy hair. Cute, not my type though." Janus rolled his eyes.
"I don't appreciate you telling me about the people you've hit on, Rem." Janus said.
"Yeah but it gets you angry." Remus grinned and leaned forward. "And you're hot when you're angry."
Janus pushed Remus' face back and rolled his eyes. "Come on, idiot, just tell me what happened."
"Well, the stupid guy couldn't tear his eyes away from the holographic watch he was wearing." Remus said, laughing. "He was, like, ticking something off or something. He didn't even see me coming at him with the bat."
"Did you kill him?" Janus asked. "Rem, you know we don't take lives. We leave that up to the heroes."
"No, Magpie swooped in just in time." Remus laughed. "Took a real hit to the stupid suit he always wears. Magpie seemed to have a thing for Blue-"
"We're not calling him Blue." Janus said.
"We are now, deal with it." Remus said, grinning. From anyone else, the words would've been a death sentence but Remus knew Janus couldn't do anything to him. The power of love. "Anyway, Blue's the weakest link! There's a connection between him and all the others. They all love him!"
Janus nodded, a smirk appearing on his face. "We take down Blue, we take down the whole team."
"Exactly." Remus said.
"Rem, you're almost a genius!" Janus said. He planted a quick kiss on Remus' lips, not long enough for it to really even be called a kiss, and pulled a notebook closer to him from across the table.
"Okay, so," Janus grabbed a pen and shook it, making sure there was still ink, "we get to the stupid hideout and scope it out. Find out who this Blue is and where he lives." Janus wrote this down, step by step. "What room he's in, when and how we attack, things like that. Then, we get him alive. Hear that, Rem? Alive."
Remus rolled his eyes. "Yeah, yeah, alive, I get it." He said.
"Good, glad you understand that. After we've got him alive, you send a note to the team."
"Saying what?" Remus asked. Janus looked at him.
"I don't know, you figure it out." He said. "But just get them here, okay? They get their precious Blue back and I get to introduce myself."
"You mean we're not going to hurt him?" Remus whined. Janus laughed, smirking.
"You love pain, don't you Rem?" He asked. Remus leaned forward again.
"You have no idea." Remus said, grinning. Janus rolled his eyes.
"You're infuriating." He said. "And we're not gonna hurt him, just rough him up a bit." Janus laughed at the way Remus' eyes lit up.
"Few broken bones? Couple cuts on the arm?" Remus asked excitedly.
Janus shrugged. "Up to you, Rem. So long as you don't kill him or give him wounds that can never heal, you got the deal."
"Oh, I love you." Remus said.
"Who doesn't?" Janus asked. "Anyway, how's the insight on Hero going?"
"Obnoxious prick." Remus snarled. "He still thinks I'm his brother. Too wrapped up in his own life to notice how different we are."
"Mhm, good. Just as I thought." Janus rifled through another notebook and ticked something off. "And Storm?"
"Doesn't trust me. Doesn't trust anyone. Loner." Remus said. "Easy to pick off on his own."
"Good." Janus grinned to himself, ticking another thing off. "Perfect. Everything's going perfectly to plan. Got anything on the person who makes their suits?"
"That's Blue." Remus said. "Don't know anything but that. Real secretive fella, won't let anyone in his lab."
"Then break in. You pick locks like no one ever before." Janus said, noting something down in a third notebook. He ripped whatever he'd written out of the notebook and folded it up, slipping it in his waistcoat pocket.
"It's high security." Remus said. "Fucking everything. Voice activation, eyeball activation, fingerprint activation, all that shit. No locks that I can pick."
"Hm..." Janus tapped his pen against his chin. "I'll get Sam on it." He decided, noting down the memo. "Apart from that, you did really well, Rem."
"Really?" Remus asked eagerly. Janus pulled Remus forward by his chin gently.
"Yeah." Janus said quietly. He nearly laughed, it was so much fun to see Remus just melt before his eyes. "You did really well, Rem." He kissed Remus.
*screams in the background*
I just love them.
Bye,
Blaize
