Jade's POV

"Trina, I heard you're married already and you got a daughter now. How has it been?" It's Sikowitz's 100th question in a row. Gosh, as if his single ass could relate. We should get him a girlfriend so he doesn't overly ask people as a hobby.

"Yes, It's been great. There are struggles because we are still getting started but that's just how parenthood is." Trina answered and Sikowitz just nodded.

"How about you, Beck and Jade? When are you two getting married? I mean, you guys have been together for so long."

"How about we talk about your love life, Sikowitz?" I shifted the topic.

"I'd rather not." He says. Lol.

Beck, on my side, was obviously stunned by the question. I can see Cat widening her eyes at me too.

"I- we're planning to," Beck answered but I cut him off. You know what, fuck it. "We already broke up."

Everyone's mouths formed an "o" shape.

You read that right. I don't understand why we still need to pretend.

Beck and I broke up almost three years ago. He was in Canada for three months to work on a film. I, in Los Angeles, was also busy starting my new business. We didn't have much to communicate. We've already gotten used to being far from each other so I thought everything was going fine. When he went back to the U.S., he said we should finally do what is best for us. I was so excited. I thought we are finally going to settle down and get married. Turns out, it was the opposite.

Beck said he wanted to split up. He has his obstacles too. I didn't want to prolong his misery. So, I agreed. I'm lying if I say I wasn't hurt. It felt like the end of me. It's been three years yet I still can't say that I have fully moved on from it...from him. I know, it's pathetic. But we remained "friends" so I guess that's probably okay.

We stayed civil and decided to hide it from our friends and fans because we didn't want to disappoint them. But Cat, my best friend, knew about it. We go on 'fake dates' once in a while for publicity. This reunion Beck's and I first meeting after six months.

I know what you're thinking; It must be impossible and a hell of awkward because heck, it really is. That man also gives me mixed signals making it harder for me to move on. Me being cold around him is just me protecting myself. The worst thing is, neither of us is brave enough to tackle it. I do not know about his side yet. Stupid, right?

But I can see that he's happier since the day I let him go. And that's what matters the most.

"What?" they all asked synchronously.

"Yes. We did." Beck nodded.

"When?"

"Why?"

"How?"

"Why didn't you guys tell us?"

They all kept on throwing questions except for Cat whose giving me a worried look right now. Thankfully, people outside our table were minding their businesses.

"I thought everything was going fine between you guys?" said Tori. Oh, trust me, I did too.

Cat's POV

I noticed Jade's uneasiness so I did what I need to do, change the topic. But I couldn't think of anything.

"Look! I'm already booking our vacation!" everyone became silent and turned their eyes on me. Ooh, I didn't expect they'd pay attention to me that fast. I winked at Jade.

"What vacation?" Andre asked.

"The 7-day Hawaii vacation I was talking about earlier. No one was listening so I'm booking it right now," I told him.

"When is it going to be?" Robbie asked.

"Hmmm...we have the whole weekend to prepare because we'll leave next Monday and we'll go back on Sunday afternoon," I said as I confirmed my booking. It's Friday today.

"CAT!?" Everyone exclaimed.

"I have plans for next week," Tori said.

"Me too," everyone added.

"Oops, I already pressed confirm," I spoke, which made them face-palmed themselves. "Don't worry, Sikowitz, you can go with us!"

"This can only happen once in a while. We've all been focusing on our careers and our schedules have been pretty hectic...I know It's been so long since each of us went to unwind so let's think about it, you guys," Beck said and It appeared to convince everyone.

"Yeah, but back to the topic. So Beck and Jade.." Andre brought it up again. I eyed Tori and I think she got a hint of what I'm trying to do.

"Guys, take it easy. Let's not make them uncomfortable. Let's wait until they can openly talk about it already," Tori responded and they apologized. I felt a sense of relief when they finally withdrew and moved on from the topic.

Jade, who's across the table, sent me a message.

"I could be thanking you right now but seriously? a vacation? that sudden? I have lots of things to do, I literally have a company to run."  Yes, she has. We love a businesswoman.

"Come on, don't be such a killjoy. We'll never know when we'll get to bond again. We all hang out for seven days? It'll be so fun."  I replied to her. Now she's glaring at me.

"Well, no fun for me because Beck would be there."  she continued texting me.

"Don't you think it has been too long, Jadey? Maybe you guys could talk out things there. And if you ditch this, everyone would think you haven't moved on yet." I'm dead after this.

"What are you talking about? I've already moved on 3 minutes after we broke up." She responded. Wow! that's very convincing.

"You're pretty bad at lying."

"I'm killing you."  Now she's threatening me. Help...
