“Hey Soph,” I said cheerfully, forcing a smile.

“Hey Shy!” she replied just as happily, the only difference being that she probably meant it. No, it wasn’t that I didn’t want her here- I mean, come on, she’s my best friend. It was just that I wasn’t in for anymore of the drama that came with her. I mean, really, if she hadn’t come over yesterday, I’m pretty sure most of what had happened wouldn’t have happened. “I checked to see if you were in the guest room earlier, but I couldn’t find you. Where were you?”

I sighed. She was definitely going to take this the wrong way.

“I was in Louis’s room.” I braced myself for her reaction.

“In Louis’s room, huh?” she giggled, sending a wink in my direction. “Anything fun happen in there?”

Could I punch her in the face? I really wanted to.

“No, we didn’t hook up, nor have we ever,” I said blandly, like I told people that everyday. I must say, it did sound weird.

“This magazine seems to think differently,” she taunted, holding up the very same copy of the one we’d seen at the mall. My eyes grew huge and I turned to give Louis a weird stare.

“Why the hell do you guys have that here?!”

“Not quite sure.” He shrugged, dismissing it. “Probably just got it in the post or something.”

Apparently, I wasn’t the only one who had decided to give Louis a strange look. At that moment, Harry came out of the kitchen with two plates of waffles, eyeing Louis in a way that could only mean one thing: Why the fuck haven’t you told her yet?!

Louis just took the plates from Harry and handed me one before muttering a ‘Not yet’ under his breath.

I looked at Harry, pleading with my eyes for him to just tell me. He just shook his head. “It’s not my decision to tell you, it’s Louis’s.”

This just made my blood start boiling. People were so frustrating.

At that moment, “What Makes You Beautiful” blared out into the silence of the room, causing me to jump. Harry groaned in annoyance.

“Ugh, that’s the eighth time this morning! Shy, go answer your phone before I chuck it out the window!”

I was shocked by the sudden temper flare, so I quickly got up and snatched my phone from the coffee table before any rash decisions could be made. However, after reading the caller ID, I just hit ignore and slipped the phone into my back pocket. I glanced up to find Louis, Sophie, and Harry just looking at me with confused expressions.

“Why didn’t you answer it?!” Harry threw his hands up in the air. “Now they’re going to call back again and that song will continue to be stuck in my head all day!”

“Well, first of all, it is your song. Shouldn’t you be happy that I have it as my rin-“

“No,” both Harry and Louis chorused at once. Even Liam shouted a delayed ‘no’ from the kitchen. If Zayn and Niall weren’t sleeping, I would’ve bet twenty bucks they’d have said the same thing. I could only sigh.

“Now, go and call whoever that was right back because I will not stand another round of that song today,” Harry growled, storming into the kitchen.

“What if I just changed the ringtone?” I asked him, trying to avoid the inevitable. I knew I wouldn’t be able to ignore my mom for long.

“No, then that damn phone will keep going off. Who’s even calling you anyway?” he called from the kitchen, the loud clanking of pans sounding as he spoke.
