"God bless!" I shouted.

"Finally!" Austin cheered along with me as we passed over the state border into California.

We still had about four hours left of our trip, but we were excited to have it come to an end. I had Austin text Rudy and my parents with an update on where we were at. I was so excited to see everyone and surprise Chase. He had no idea at all that we were coming. He had finished filming and had been able to call and text a bit more, which was great, except during this time when we were trying to surprise him. We were making it just in time too as Chase was arriving tomorrow.

"Would you like any snacks?" Austin asked from the passenger side.

"I'd take some beef jerky " I responded and he handed some to me. We had stocked up with plenty of drinks and snacks so that we wouldn't have to stop as often. Only for bathroom breaks and we did stop at a hotel for the night last night. It seemed everyone was being pretty cautious now and we wore masks into any rest stops and made sure to use sanitizer. It was all very strange but with the less frequent stops, we were able to get here faster. We also switched driving every couple of hours as well.

"I cannot wait to get out of the car," I sighed, "I will not drive this far in a very long time."

"What about having to go back to the east coast?" Austin laughed.

"Fuck it, the car stays," I replied, "I'll hitchhike."

"Sounds like the next episode of Dateline," he responded.

"You know, if I'm gonna be murdered, it better be a good enough crime to end up on Dateline," I shrugged.

"I don't think that should be a goal that you have," he shook his head and I laughed.

We continued our drive and were soon in the city, but it wasn't anything like I had remembered.

"It's like a ghost town," Austin noted.

There were barely any people out. No tourists at all and there wasn't any traffic either. We called Rudy to figure out where to go and he told us where the building's parking lot was and gave us the code to get into it. Once we parked we got out to start unloading.

"Friends!"

I turned towards the voice and saw Rudy coming through a door to the elevator.

"Rudy!" I shouted, stopping what I was doing and rushed towards him.

"Ro!" He smiled.

I wrapped my arms around his neck and he lifted me slightly off the ground as we hugged.

"You made it!" He said excitedly setting me back down. Both him and Austin hugged before he assisted with all of our stuff, "What are y'all moving in?" Rudy asked looking at the luggage.

"I mean, that was the offer wasn't it?" I rolled my eyes.

"Nah, I thought it was just a vacation," he said sarcastically and I shoved him.

We gathered up all our belongings and Rudy led us inside. We went up in an elevator and made it to the apartment. There were two bedrooms, one on either side of the apartment, there was a bathroom for the one side and the other bathroom was in the bedroom. There was also a small balcony that overlooked the highway.

"Have we figured out how we're all going to fit in here?" I asked.

"Well, the couch pulls out into a bed so you could fit two people there. We can fit me and someone else in my room. Then two in the other and I'm guessing we'll just need an air mattress," Rudy shrugged as he showed us around.
