"What's the plan birthday girl?" Maddie asked as we gathered with Elaine, Julia and Lilah after our birthday slumber party. We got home after leaving the boardwalk last night and they stayed up late all pestering me with more questions about Chase and I's relationship.

"Beach day?" I suggested eating the pancakes I had made for everyone.

"Oooh yes, we haven't been to the beach in so long," Julia agreed as everyone else nodded.

"I'll let the group chat know and we can head over after breakfast," Elaine suggested.

"This works out perfect cause I just bought a new swimsuit," I said as we continued to eat.

"Oooh, I need a good shopping trip sometime soon," Maddie stated.

Once I was finished with my food I went to go put on my new dark green swimsuit. It buttoned in the middle along with a knot to keep it secure. One of the other girls was getting dressed in the bathroom so I did my hair in front of my mirror braiding it in a crown around my head. I threw on some light blue faded shorts and packed my bag for the beach. Maddie was packing some snacks and drinks into a cooler to bring as we waited for the rest of the group to be ready.

I grabbed a handle on the cooler as Maddie took the other end once we had everything settled and good to go. The guys were waiting down by the elevator as we caught up to them.

"Good morning gentlemen," Elaine announced.

They all said their responses a few more quietly as we had all been out late last night.

"Good morning Rose," Chase said as he took the handle of the cooler so him and Rudy could carry it for us.

"Morning," I smiled before the elevator opened and we all piled in. The walk to the beach was short and the weather was amazing. It was partly cloudy but still pretty warm out. We dropped our stuff in a pile and started laying out towels as part of the group went to rent surfboards. "It is beautiful out," I stated laying on my towel, "I love the sun but it is so nice just to relax and not be basking in the heat."

"I agree, its the perfect temperature for me to take a nap," Lilah laughed.

"You just woke up," I noted.

"Yeah and I'm ready for a nap," she shrugged before laying out on her towel. I propped my bag up using it as a pillow, looking out into the ocean as I saw Elaine, Rudy, Chase and Austin setting up the surfboards that they had rented and were getting ready to go into the water.

"You don't want to go surfing?" Drew asked sitting beside me.

"I've never been. What about you?" I asked.

"JD is getting one of the last boards so were gonna share," he answered and I nodded, "We also got a skim board wanna learn how to use that?"

"What is it?" I asked.

"It's the board that you can surf across the shoreline so you don't even go anywhere deep," he explained.

"Oh I think I know what you're talking about. Yeah that sounds fun!" I nodded. JD came over with the two boards and handed the smaller board to Drew before heading out to join the rest of the group as they started to paddle out into the ocean.

"Come on, I'll show you how to do it. It's not super hard, you just gotta have some balance," he told me and I followed, "Have you skateboarded before?"

"Yeah, not recently, but I know how to," I said as we got to the shoreline.

"First you can just skim along the edge and we'll work up to going over the waves," he told me and I agreed. Drew started first and showed me how he glided across the water for a short distance. To start out he would hold the board like as skateboard running through the water before laying it down ahead of himself before hopping on.
