We had made it through the first week of training and getting prepared to film Outerbanks. My swimming training was super easy since I had already know the basics of swimming and being able to tread. For stunts I didn't really have anything outside of the basics as well. I was usually in class with a majority of the cast and we were split into groups depending on how many stunts we had for the upcoming episode.
Today was the first table read and I was able to meet my on screen dad Charles Esten who was really fun. Being able to see him in person versus when I used to watch his comedy shows while growing up was really cool. Maddie and I had grabbed Starbucks from across the street from the apartment complex and were all now sitting at a table where everyone including the cast and crew in a circle. Everyone had name tags like we had had at the restaurant our first night here that had printed our names and who we were playing or their positions.
"Are y'all excited?" Chase asking coming up behind Austin and I as we talked about how training had went for this week.
"Definitely, there's a lot of people in here," I said looking back at him. Jonas called for everyone's attention stating to find out seats as we are going to get started. Chase ran back to his seat a few down from us.
"As I stated earlier this week we are so glad to finally get this show on the road. We are excited to have everyone here and now have the first week under wraps," Jonas told us. He went around introducing everyone in the room and everyone would give a wave when their name was called.
After that we got started with the reading. For this first episode I'm only in a few scenes, the first being when Scooter's wife has come looking for her missing husband, then there are two scenes at the boneyard where they pogues are having a kegger and the last when Sarah catches John B stealing scuba tanks. It took a little over two hours to read through the entire script with everything included. Once that had been included a few of the writers and producers spoke about what exactly they were having planned for at least the first script with character development along with other short notes that they had wanted.
We start filming on Monday though my first scene wasn't until later in the week and then in our second week it was the kegger and then the last one. We at least had the weekends off to do as we pleased and I'm sure the group had already made plans to do something. We basically spent any free time together and had come super close over the past week. I was definitely way more comfortable now then I had been at the beginning of the week. I think any nerves I have left will be gone once the first episode is wrapped just like Chase had told me. The cast and crew wanted to get a few photos together for the start of filming so we got a big group photo and then took some with smaller groups of either just the producers.
