Chapter 9
“Sit here.”
“How do you feel now? Better?” he asked full of concern and I replied him with a nod.
Lately, I’m feeling tired and sometimes nausea hits me. Harold gave Doc. Salinas a call to ask about my condition and she told us that it was because of hormonal changes. She then gave us some pieces of advice and told us not to worry about it too much.
“Are you hungry? I’ll cook—”
I shook my head. “I just want to sleep,” my voice faded.
Harold put his left arm at my nape and his right arm at the back of my knees before carrying me and he brought me inside my room.
“Should I turn off the aircon?”
“No, leave it like that,” tugon ko lalo pa’t pinagpapawisan ako.
He looked for a towel and headed back to me again.
“Feeling better now?” Tumango na lang ako sa kanya.
I looked at Harold when he heaves a deep sigh. Then he looked back at me. “Why are you giving me that look?” puno ng kuryosidad na tanong ko.
His stare was not that awkward. I just can’t name the way he’s looking at me. Saka ito mahinang napailing. “I was just wondering who will be taking care of you if I haven’t seen you at the park,” paliwanag nito. “Take a rest. I’ll be out for a while. He just tapped my shoulder before he went out.
Who would be taking care of me if he’s not with me? I felt embarrassed for putting him through this, but I was thankful because he’s with me.
I got up from my place and took it from the center table.
[Rhian Cassandra!
“I’m not living in that unit anymore.”
[Ha? E, nasaan ka ngayon?]
“Boses mo, Jana.”
[Nasaan ka nga?]
“Are you free? We’ll meet today—”
[Sige. I’ll send you the time and place.]
I made a quick bath and wore something comfortable. About my things left in my unit? That’s why I’m looking for a place to stay so I could move in right away. I don’t want to trouble him anymore.
