Chapter 37
“Pakawalan mo kami, Rhian! Wala kaming kasalanan!” Erica yelled, her veins are showing. She also glared at me like she’s ready to attack anytime.
“Walang kasalanan?” I scoffed because I couldn’t get to believe what she just uttered. Wala silang kasalanan?
“That is for ordering my accident, Erica!” Next I did was to deal with Tita Margaret and also smashed her in the face. “And that is for killing my father, Tita!”
Tita’s face suddenly became gentle. Not minding her hands fastened with the handcuffs, she aimed to hold me. “Don’t do this to us, Rhian. I know you’re just doing this because of how I treated you before when your father died. Yes, I got furious at you but that was because I couldn’t accept his death even though I knew Francis died of natural causes. But please, don’t put the blame on us now. I know, this was just a misunderstanding, Rhian.”
“You killed three people. You ruined our lives. Now you’re telling me it was just a misunderstanding?” kulang na lang na isampal ko sa kanila ang katotohanan baka sakaling makonsensya sila kahit kaunti man lamang.
“Erica ordered my accident knowing that I was pregnant. Then you, her mother, you blackmailed Doc. Cuevas to kill my father, and you even forged his handwriting and his stamp post for his last will. Yet, you are here, spoiling yourselves from the things that aren’t supposed to be yours. Now that I was aware of the truth, how could you act so innocently? Are you still humans?” I questioned disgustingly, hoping that they could go back to their senses.
“You said it was a misunderstanding,” pag-uulit ko sa sinabi nito kanina. “If that was just a misunderstanding for you, then sorry, but I guess I had to make a misunderstanding too for you to realize how much damage you caused into my life.”
“Take them away.”
“No! No! You can’t do this to us, Rhian! Rhian, let us go! Rhian!”
“I’ll forget what I saw today. I’ll also act like nothing happened especially those who raise their hands to make Erica the new CEO of this company,” paalala ko sa kanilang lahat.
“Get out now.” “I said out!” It was like thunder that echoed inside the conference hall.
