Chapter 13
“I... I didn’t lose the b-baby, right?” naiiyak kong tanong nang magtama ang tingin naming dalawa ni Klein.
The moment I opened my eyes, I already knew I was inside the hospital. And the fact that I was here, agad na ginapangan ng takot ang dibdib ko nang maalala ko kung anong nangyari sa akin. When I roamed my eyes, it was Klein whom I first saw that’s why I asked him that because I didn’t know what happened to me after taking me away from my Dad’s party.
I bit my lip as I met his eyes. “I didn’t lose the child, right? Please, tell me, I did not. Right?”
Klein cupped my face and he wiped away my tears using his right hand. “You did not. You and the baby are both safe. Now stop crying,” paga-aalo nito sa akin.
From his hand that’s wiping my tears, it went down on my arm and he pulled me closer to him; allowing me to lean on his broad chest while I’m crying.
Hindi ko lang kasi maiwasang hindi umiyak. I do not know what will happen to me if I really did lose the child.
According to the doctor who checked on me, I’m experiencing vaginal bleeding. I asked if it’s normal and she said yes. Vaginal bleeding during the first trimester of pregnancy is common. The thought that early bleeding may indicate the presence of a serious problem like miscarriage, she told me that it is frequently not the case, lalo na sa case ko. Kahit papaano ay nakahinga ako nang maluwag. Natatakot din kasi akong baka makunan ako.
“Is my bleeding has something to do with me being pushed?”
“Mr. Olsen already told me your situation and it doesn’t have to do with your vaginal bleeding. You already bleed before you were pushed that’s why you were thinking that was the cause of your bleeding. Don’t worry, you and the baby are safe,” the doctor then smiled at me.
Before she left, she informed me to stay here in the meantime.
I stayed in the hospital for two days and one night. When they told me that the heartbeat of the baby is seen on the ultrasound, doon ako napanatag.
Klein processed everything especially my hospital bills, then he assisted me until we got out of that hospital.
“Let’s go home,” usal nito habang inaayos ‘yung seatbelt ko.
“No. You’ll go home with me.” “I won’t allow you to be in danger again... especially the baby,” dugtong nito saka siya umayos ng pagkakaupo.
Napatango na lamang ako sa sinabi niya. It’s his baby after all. Kaya gano’n na lamang ‘yung pag-aalala niya.
“Let’s go,” utos nito sa kanyang driver.
