Chapter 40
Unlike the last wedding we had, I couldn’t count the number of people invited. Media, people from different countries which were maybe colleagues and friends of Klein, and other people whom I met for the first time were here.
Despite the countless people, my eyes were only fixated on Klein, gripping the stem of the fresh flower bouquet, feeling the fast pace of my heart while I was slowly walking towards where he was standing. I was so close to tearing up but I restrained myself. I just couldn’t suppress my emotions because Klein let me experience my dream wedding, a beach wedding. And he gave me more than just the dream I want.
He kissed the back of my hand before he entwined it with his, then we walked towards the priest, the same priest who wedded us before. The wedding ceremony then started.
“I now pronounce you husband and wife,” the priest finally announced. When Klein kissed me, the visitors clapped at us and the quick photoshoot happened after that.
“Kiss! Kiss!” Jana teased and everyone seconded her. I just laughed because it was me who did that too when she and Ellie got married.
My husband’s arm went to my waist and when we faced each other, with a curved smile, I closed my eyes as I waited for his lips to touch mine.
“I love you so much, wife,” he whispered through my ears and that gave me chills.
We faced the visitors and told them how grateful we were. And yes, most of them couldn’t believe that it’s our second wedding already.
“Dude, huwag puro kasal. Baby naman next time!” One of his friends yelled at him teasingly.
“Shut up, fuckers!” sagot naman nito pabalik kaya nagtawanan tuloy kaming lahat.
The wedding happened around 4 in the afternoon, enough to enjoy the atmosphere the beach is giving us. Visitors were still on the hall, enjoying and having their drinks yet Klein and I was already inside here in our suite, tired yet glad for what happened.
“Kung hindi lang sila kaibigan ni Klein Jackson, I should have thrown them out yesterday. Goodness, I wasn’t able to sleep because they were so noisy!” reklamo ni Kleinary nang mag-agahan kami sa may tabi ng beach.
