It was now mid July and the children's summer holidays. Luzia, Penelope and Benji barely spoke to each other now and would only communicate through their mother. For instance, Luzia was sat in the dining room drawing and talking to her mum when Benji came downstairs looking for something to eat.
"Mildred, can you make me a snack, please?" Benji asked her.
Mildred was still very down in the dumps after Oris's death, but she was getting happier day by day.
"Yes, what would you like?"
"A ham sandwich, please."
"Alright, go and sit in the dining room with your mother and Luzia."
Benji walked through the door and stared at Luzia who had her head down drawing.
"Mum, tell Luzia to leave the dining room please."
"I'm not leaving, all I'm doing is drawing."
"Mum, tell her to leave." Benji repeated.
"Honestly Benji. Grow up and sit down in here with Luzia and I."
He took another look at Luzia.
"I think, I'll eat my sandwich in the living room, actually."
Mildred passed Benji his sandwich and he took it into the living room.
"Don't make a mess in there, Benji." Sarah reminded him.
Benji ignored his mother.
"Luzia, try and make up with him."
Luzia looked up from her notepad. "No, I did nothing to him. He is just sad that Matty moved schools."
"I guess, but he clearly is still upset with you over it, try and talk things out with him."
"No, mum. I'm too busy drawing anyway."
"What are you drawing?"
Sarah stood up and tried to peer over Luzia's shoulder at what she was drawing, but Luzia was too quick at covering the paper.
"Nothing. I'm off to my room. Tell Benji he can sit in here now if he wants."
Luzia left the room with her notepad and pencil case in her hands and went upstairs and into her room.
When she walked into her bedroom she noticed that Sarah had changed her bed covers and made her bed for her. She threw her notepad and pencil case onto her bed and checked on her sleeping owl, it had a letter tied to it's leg.
Her owl returned late last night while it was pitch black so there was no wonder why Luzia didn't notice that her owl returned with a letter. She carefully removed the letter without waking up the owl and opened the envelope.
Luzia could tell straight away that the letter was from Professor Villarreal from his very neat handwriting. He wrote:
Dear Luzia,
Sorry we haven't seen each other much since your birthday, but I want to visit you today, just you. I have birthday presents for you and your siblings that I'll bring with me. I'll come to your house at around 1:00pm. I won't come through the portkey though, I'll drive a car to your house and apparate into your house. See you later.
Yours truly, Professor Villarreal.
Luzia checked her clock and noticed that it was 12:30pm now. She only had to wait 30 minutes to see Richard again. She missed him. She went from seeing him pretty frequently in lessons to seeing him every 2 days as well as on weekends and then to never for the last month. She didn't understand why he wanted to visit during the day though or by car. She also didn't understand how he'd manage to only see her when he comes over unless he was to hide in her bedroom. Luzia wouldn't mind Richard hiding in her room, she still fancied him.
