Shopping Adventure Part 10

They all got into Richard's car. Luzia sat in the front with Richard and Benji sat in the back. The weather was still really great. There wasn't a cloud in the sky. 

"Where are we going then?" Asked Benji

"I was thinking that we could go into town and have some brunch at a restaurant."

Benji ignored him.

After about 10 minutes, the group had arrived in the town centre. It was decently busy.

 "We could go to this place for brunch." Richard said, he was referring to McDonalds.

Benji and Luzia looked at each other. "Sure." Luzia said.

The 3 of them walked in, there was only 3 other groups of people there. There was a old man and women with their 2 grandchildren, there was a group of 3 teenage boys with their dad and a pair of 2  teenage girls who looked slightly older than Benji and Luzia.

Richard lead the children to a table and they all sat with him. Luzia sat next to him and Benji sat opposite.

"Why don't we all go up to the counter 1 by 1 and order some food." Richard told him.

"You two go first." Benji said to them.

Richard and Luzia stared at each other.

"Erm ok." Said Luzia, "You come with me, Professor."

Richard nodded and they both left Benji alone at the table. 

"What do we do?" Luzia asked him.

"About what?"

"You not being able to eat food." She whispered.

"Hmm, I hadn't though of that. I could just order loads of water and pretend that I'm on a diet."

"Warm water?"

"Yes, I'll ask for just water."

Richard stood forward and went towards the counter, a girl was stood there.

"Good morning miss, I have an odd request."

"Good morning, go for it."

"I would like 2 cups of warm water."

"Cups as in coffee cups?"

"Yes, of just warm water. You can give me boiling hot water if you like, I'll wait for it to cool down a little before drinking."

"Hmm, I don't think I can give you that, Sir. Can I offer you a warm drink instead, like coffee or a tea?"

Luzia stepped forward. "My erm- dad, needs to drink warm water-he can't drink anything else."

"Hmm, let me just go into the back and speak with my manager for a second."

The girls walked away.

"What if she says no?" Asked Luzia.

"It's fine."

Shortly after, the girl came back with her manager.

"This is the man who wants 2 cups of warm water."

"Hmm, is there any reason for this, sir?" Asked the manager.

"I have a health issue, it's very unique so I can't imagine you've heard of it."

"And?"

"And it means I can only drink warm water, if I drink cold...I can't swallow it properly."

The manager turned around and looked at the coffee machine, "There is no button on our machine that allows us to give you just water, it can give you a very weak coffee though, sir."
