The 1st Night Part 15

Luzia filled her plate with potatoes and chicken with gravy on top. Penelope poured some chicken and some vegetables on her plate with gravy. 

Luzia ate her food pretty quickly, as she was eating, she kept looking up at Richard who was sat on the staff table drinking water. Luzia wondered why none of the teachers questioned why he wasn't eating unless they knew he was a vampire, but how would they know? Richard told Luzia that nobody knew apart from her.

Luzia finished off her mash potatoes and poured herself some water. Luzia looked up and saw that Johnny Dipper was staring at her from across the hall. She wanted to wave at him, but she wanted to be lowkey as the Great Hall was full of many people. She smiled at him and hoped that he knew she was ok.

After about 30 minutes, Professor McGonagall wiped her mouth and stood up. The children's voices became silent.

"Children, it looks like dinner is done which means it is time for dessert." As she said this the pots and plates on the table were replaced with bowls and different types of desserts. "Enjoy." She said before sitting down again.

There was many different types of food, such as; sponge cake, double chocolate cake, custard, cream, rice pudding, rocky road, and more.

"This looks so yummy." Benji said on the Ravenclaw table.

Benji picked up a slice of the chocolate cake and put it in his bowl and poured some custard onto it. Luzia decided to pick some chocolate cake as well and decided to grab 2 slices. It was difficult for her to fit both pieces in her bowl but she did and then she added custard. Penelope wanted to take a slightly healthier approach and picked the rice pudding.

About 30 minutes later, Professor McGonagall finished her cake and stood up again. Luzia noticed that Richard had left the table.

"Professor Villarreal has gone." Luzia told Penelope in a quiet whisper.

"I wonder why."

"Excuse me children." Professor McGonagall started. The children became silent. "I have been informed that there is a murderer  sneaking around England who is killing Muggles and Wizards a like."

Children started to whisper to one another.

"Who?" Penelope asked Luzia.

"No idea."

A few people called out Vanessa Riddle's name, but McGonagall stopped them. "We do not believe that Vanessa Riddle is related to the murderer in question, so if I hear a word, you will be removed from the Great hall and be escorted to my office right now."

Luzia was worried that Richard knew something about it and that why why he was missing from the Great Hall.

"Now, I will now tell you who your head boys and girls are for your house and then they can escort you to your common rooms. For Gryffindor it is, Jessica Hill and Sam Checkers. For Hufflepuff it is Sarah Tipp and Ryan Miles. For Raveclaw it is Bobbie Rex and Dean Sack and for Slytherin it is Abby Hellers and Albert Benn."

As Professor McGonagall said this, each head boy and girl stood up and led their house out of the Great Hall and towards their common rooms.

"Come here Gryffindors." Jessica said.

The first years looked nervous.

Once Gryffindor reached their common room, Sam told them the secret code word. "This years password is, Kuritsa. It is a Russian word and please make sure you remember this code word."

When Sam said it, the painting with the fat lady on it, opened. Sam led the children inside.

"I will show the first year  boys  to their room and Jessica will show the girls to their room."

The 1st year children split off and went to their different rooms. Luzia and Penelope went to their bedroom first and went to their normal beds. Penelope's bed was the bed near the door and Luzia's bed was next to Penelope's near the window. Michelle's bed was opposite Penelope's bed and Sophie, their friend, was in the bed opposite Luzia's.

Penelope and Luzia changed into their pyjamas straight away and laid on their beds, looking up at the ceiling. Luzia's pyjamas were a light purple colour with a picture of a guitar on the front. Penelope was wearing a long piece of fabric, like a dress. It was a light pink colour and it had little stars on it.

"I can't believe you picked rice pudding as a dessert, the chocolate cake was the best." Luzia said while looking at the ceiling.

"I wanted to be slightly more healthy." Penelope told her.

"You aren't fat though, Benji should be the super fit one, he want's to play Quidditch."

"I'm not saying 'I'm fat'. I just want to remain thin, that's all."

"Whatever. I'm off to bed now."

"Hmm, tomorrow we should find Benji at breakfast and tell him about what you saw Professor Villarreal and mum do."

"Ok, goodnight Penelope."

"Night Luzia."

They both pulled the curtains along the sides of their 4 poster bed and laid there. It would only be a matter of time before Michelle and Sophie would arrive and make loads of noise.

Luzia laid on her bed, thinking of Richard. She was still angry at him about what she saw him do with their mum in the driveway, the very drive way which her father died in. 'How dare he touch her'. Luzia thought to herself. 'Mum is still married to my dad'. She thought. Luzia's mum still wore her wedding ring. Surely Richard wouldn't want to date someone who still loved someone else.

Just before she fell asleep, Michelle and Sophie walked into the room. 

"Aw look, the little girls are all sleepy." Michelle mocked.

Penelope and Luzia stayed silent. This reminded Luzia of all the times Penelope, Sophie and Michelle would say rude things about her while she would hide in bed.

"It's my sisters birthday tomorrow and I can't even spend it with her, all because of these 2 freaks making her get expelled."

Sophie said nothing.

"Let's get ready for bed, Sophie." Michelle told her.

The girls could hear Michelle and Sophie change into their pyjamas and go to the bathroom together. After a couple of minutes they both returned and Luzia could hear them climb into their bed.

"Night Sophie" Michelle said.

"Night Michelle." Sophie said.

It was silent, the only thing Luzia could hear was the others pulling the curtains across their 4 poster beds.
