The prince plopped down on the soft mattress of the bottom bunk that had been stained by the familiar scent of his guard. The dragon noticed the Prince frequently hanging around his bed, he was tempted to throw him off.
"I met a villager when I was called by the kingdom, their name is Ukraine, there's something going on around the village, something about kidnappings. I thought we should go check it out, make our lives a bit more interesting."
The Russian's expression faltered for a second when he heard about this but he shook it off. "Sure, I've been needing to stretch my wings anyways," the Russian leaned back onto the bed frame with a sly grin plastered on his face.
Japan shrugged as he piled the cards into a neat and orderly stack, with a quick motion the cards were shuffled once again. The Japanese man's hand movements were like the flow of a serene river, swift, precise and smooth.
The cards slid to each respective person with great accuracy, a few cards were even thrown to America, landing perfectly onto his lap.
"Care to play?" Japan's jade green eyes shifted to the corner of his eyes to glance at the prince. A friendly challenge.
In response America smiled, "you're on."
Everyone could feel sparks flying between China and the prince as the game progressed. South hesitantly placed down a dreaded black card in to the middle of the pile, "color change to green."
America threw the same card down, "plus 8 color change to blue." The Chinese man's eye twitched as he bit his lower lip in thought, a sinister smile tugged on his lips.
"Your attempts to stop me are futile, I too have the same card," the Chinese dragon slammed down the same black card. "Red, because I know you don't have a red card."
The prince couldn't help furrow his brows and accepted that China was right, he had no red. Japan deeply regretted his invitation offer to the prince as he held his deck of 20 cards and added another 12 cards.
The prince flashed a glance at Russia, 'help me out would ya? I know you have 2 wild cards.'
Russia couldn't help but stare at his deck, then at America, how the hell does he know that?
With a roll of his eyes he placed down one of his wildcards, before saying the color change he glanced at the man in front of him. He understood what the prince wanted.
"Blue."
South and North casually placed down a normal card, when it was time, America thrusted a blue plus 2 to the middle. China begrudgingly added 2 cards to his deck, totaling up to 4 leaving the prince victorious.
An audible sigh was heard, "Quit using your tactic understanding to gang up on me, two against one is something I can hardly handle especially since it's you two specifically."
"Oops you caught us," the prince said cheekily with a smile of triumph. With his eyes tightly shut in disappointment, Russia grimaced.
"Which reminds me, I'll have masks created if anyone requests for one. But we don't necessarily need one, cloaks should work just fine."
When the prince said this, Japan immediately took out a small notepad he had in his sleeve, he scribbled on it for a few seconds before handing the final result over to America.
It's base color was white with fox like ears and red highlights around it, Japan called it a kitsune, he mentioned it once before. Deja Vu bounced off the page making America purse his lips into a thin line.
Scattered memories of shattered pieces hovered the pages, the prince traced his finger on the markings on the drawing, the lines would sink deeper than necessary. A bottomless pit of hesitance, it must've taken a lot of courage out of Japan to present his idea to America.
