"Who were you talking to?" The American asked in the distance, noticing that Ukraine was trying to converse with someone.
Clattering of metal chains could be heard from the other side followed by China's voice, "a woman with round glasses, very pretty, she's powerful. She seems to be keeping the hostages in check, like how someone would check the quality of trading goods."
The candle light flickered for a split second in the cottage, America pressed his lips into a thin line as his Adam apple bobbed, "does she have an utterly stiff demeanor that you just can't help but want to slap her?"
"Uhh I don't know about the slapping part but yeah she does, do you know her?"
The corner of America's mouth twitched in discontent, "shit, at first I thought this human trafficking thing was set up by a small organization that isn't well off and so that's why they resort to such a method but if Germany's involved then this changes everything..."
"That still doesn't explain how you know her," the Russian said irritatedly as he pulled his cloak on in preparation to pinpoint China's location.
"To put it simply, if you could consider me the military's pet then you could consider her the government's pet. She handles paperwork, negotiations and such while I handle the fighting. Which also means that the kingdom has some relations to this human trafficking scheme."
A mask was tossed over at Japan, it shone under the dim candle light, eeriness filled the air as Japan clutched it tighter in his grasp. It's shape, it's texture, everything was so familiar yet so distant, no longer was the mask stained with the scent of his old home. It's old cracks that he had memorized were gone now, along with the fleeting memories.
Why did he request such a mask to hopefully resurface his old memories? In all honesty Japan didn't know exactly why he was fighting so hard for revenge, he didn't remember whether his mother was downright terrible or the best in the world. If he could just remember then maybe he'd have a clear picture of why exactly he was doing all this.
Revenge right? That's what... he wanted right?
The mask fit onto his face like a glove, despite it being a full face mask with no visible holes, everything he saw was crystal clear.
"China stay where you are, we'll come for you in awhile, also no matter the circumstances, do not let Germany touch you and do not answer any of her questions-" America continued after a short pause, "in fact don't talk to her at all, she's a highly dangerous individual."
There was a groan from the other side, "yeah sure okay, just hurry up, the ventilation here is horrible."
Pulling up their cloaks, the 5 of them rushed out the cottage stealthily and descended into the night. South climbed onto North's back as he extended his bright blue wings, Russia as well extended his wings but was now caught in a dilemma.
Which one shall he carry? Japan or America?
"Get on Japan, let's go," Russia motioned at him to get on, but before he could even take a step forward the prince rushed in.
"Let me ride you! Come on, how come you picked Japan over me? Making wings for myself is too impractical, I've always wanted to try it..." America whined while gripping the Russian in his grasps by the sleeve. A glint of opportunity rose, it wasn't often that Russia had something America couldn't do, and he also just wanted America to shut up, "if you want it so bad then beg for it."
"...you're so mean, aren't you supposed to be my guard?"
"Even so I still want to skin you alive."
Seeing the two of them bickering back and forth made a cold drop of sweat slide down Japan's face. "I can just scout the perimeter by foot so you guys can go ahead,"
