Rebecca's Perspective

I didn't get home until just before twelve last night; I didn't think such a person as Sasha could have such a passion for shopping. I mean, who really knows three different 24-hour malls?

"Revy, up an' at 'em." I heard the sound of blinds being opened before the burn of the sun intruded my sleep. "You're past late for work."

I sat up, rubbing my eyes and fluttered them open, "What time is it?" I asked only to be answered with my uniform being thrown at me.

I moved them to see Benny resetting my clock's alarm, "It's eleven. I called in for you that you'll be late. Again. You know your alarm was set to pm instead of am?"

I wiped my face, stretching, "Just go make me food or something so I can get dressed." He smirked and left my room, whistling. Of course I face flopped back on the pillow for a bit longer. Until I was reawakened a little while after.

I feel this is going to be a long, odd day. I kinda want to just skip to the end of the day and get this date thing over with. But of course, I can't time travel. It's another cold one today. The snow had melted away but the ground is wet with overnight rain and iced in some parts.

I stepped in the office somewhere around twelve or one o' clock. I'm pretty sure this'll be a bad look on my record but I couldn't give any less of a shit. I went to my office and set my coat on the back of my chair, going to the kitchenette to make my daily caffeine.

"And I'm the one who gets yelled at for my lateness..." A familiar voice joked from my right. I looked over to see Levi beating me to the microwave. "Good afternoon, Rebecca."

I smirked, pouring my ingredients in a mug, "I said you could call me Revy."

"I know," he said with a shrug, "But why have a name no one uses?"

"Fair point." I agreed. I set my cup by the microwave and waited for his drink to finish. But lucky for me, Okajima noticed me before I could scurry back to my own office. "Rebecca," he said sounding childishly whiney, "How are you later than Levi?"

"Mr. Ackerman to you, Rokuro." Levi retorted sharply, "And I was on time today."

"Surprise, surprise..." He smirked, "Rebecca, try to do better Monday, alright?"

I crossed my arms over my chest, "Rokuro, what's up with you?" He looked at me confused, "Why're you so Ackerman's back? I mean, when he's late, sure whatever. But with you, even when he's on time he's late. Enlighten me, enlighten us!"

He breathed through his nose, furrowing his brows, "I only want him to do better for the future."

"Oh yea?" Levi added, "Even when the future's come and gone and I have done better?"

"Let's not sass your employer, Ackerman."

"Mr. Ackerman, to you, Rokuro."

"First amendment says I can call you what I wish, Levi."

"Guys!" I shouted, breaking their little argument, "Please explain to all if us how good it looks to try and prove that you're more big-dicked in front of the entire office, especially you, Okajima." I gestured to the onlooking coworkers. Everyone had stopped their work and was nosying their attention over here. "Now, since all of a sudden I'm the professional one, both of you oughtta find something to do because you're acting like boys who haven't even learned to spell puberty."

They gave each other threatening glares before walking their separate ways. I rubbed my temples as Levi's drink dinged in the microwave. I turned to switch it out with mine, setting it for three minutes. When I turned away from the microwave, I saw Arlert walking towards the sink, sending a kind smile my way. "You know, Ms. Lee, that was very different to see from you."

He began washing his cup, "It felt odd as Hell. Me? Breaking up an argument like that..."

"Well, sometimes different is good. Then, you won't live so one-sidedly, you know?" He set his clean dish down, reaching for paper towels, "But what do I know? I'm speaking from readings I've read."

I chuckled, "You're still a wise person. I heed your advice when I need to."

He nodded, disposing of his used paper towels. "I can only present the information. I can't force you to take it."

I smiled at him and he smiled back before proceeding to his office. I think I should've just called out today. If I did, they probably would've been fist fighting. Oh well. Only seven hours to go...
