Rebecca's Perspective

"You know, it's kind of quiet around here now that Okajima has no one to yell at." I stride into Armin's office and lean against the side of his desk, "The rest of his division finally decided to reappear, luckily, from their long ass vacation."

Armin smirked, "I couldn't agree more. I do wonder where all of them actually went, however." He glided in his chair to his mini fridge to get a drink.

I was reading over the pinned articles on his bulletin. All of which were old pieces by Actor Man, aka Levi. As I was reading them, I noticed how well written they were. No wonder he's so praised, he's a damn writing god. Drifting through the foggy air, he trots on clouds of anxiety and belittlement but refuses to stumble. A smug grin with sarcasm and placebo confidence dripping of the edges of his mouth will keep him afloat, regardless of where he stands: a shallow sinkhole of quicksand.

"I've never read anything of his and I regret it so much." I said thinking aloud.

I felt a paper being shoved into my hand. "Read this one. It's just in from last paper."

Grasping the newspaper, I unfolded it and quickly turned to his section. "'Felony of Heaven's Second Devil'" I sat in the chair against the wall in his office:

'Here lies the body of an instrument for tyranny. Here sits the empty caucus of one who wasn't meant to be six feet under. But gone is the spirit of a heavenly devil. Gone from his hole. Among you walks Heaven's second Fallen Angel. He waits in the shadows to mark the sky with blue stars that will twinkle brighter than he did alive. To be kicked from Heaven was painful. To be removed from high seat was a toll. But to come crashing to Earth was the most beautiful medley of sensations.

'Why, you ask, was I denied? Well, a devil and angel could never fall in love. Not in heaven. Therefore, I was pushed away. While it was all undercover, nothing can you hide from a deity. And the superiority dislike my notions of love. So it stood: do not love or do not live. And so it was: give me love or give me death. So in the cemetery of the skies does my body lie. But amongst you roams a vengeful demon. Whose love will still live strong through the strings of the cosmos. In the name of humanity and justice, I declare this dedication to my angel in the Heavens.'"

I looked up from the paper I read to see Armin's smiling face covered in tears. "I thought Butterfly Effect would be my favorite. But now, I see it's not."

I put the paper on the table beside him. "I honestly feel kind of stupid. What was I thinking having a crush on you?" I shrugged, "Clearly, you two were destined to be. And I'm not trying to break you two up, believe me I'm over it."

He chuckled, wiping his face, "I do believe you. And like I was once told: I'm sure there's someone out there for you." He tossed his empty bottle in the trash.

There was a knock at the door. Okajima was standing there with someone, "Hello, Mr. Arlert. I'm just showing Braun's intern around."

I looked back at Armin who had a warm smile on his face, "Hello. And what's your name sir?"

"Hi. Uh, Berthold, Berthold Hoover, sir." He said. He was well spoken and dressed. Short, ruffled navy hair and seemed nervous.

"Well, I'm Mr. Arlert, head editor here at the Titan. I hope you look forward to employment here." Armin said back before he and Okajima were exchanging words.

It all sounded like mumbles while I was trying to subtly check the eye candy out. Until he almost caught me and my cheeks nearly exploded. After an ado, the two left. "Pfft, another twerp for Okajima to yell at."

"Don't act like you weren't interested, Rebecca," My face grew hot again, "I saw you staring at his 'chiseled features'." He teased with a chuckle. I grunted a "shut up" before trying to convince him I wasn't staring. Of course, he went into the depths of his brain to show his argument talent, typical. And in the end, it was a useless argument because he won. As always. Typical.
