Rebecca's Perspective
"Where were you anyways?" I asked, leaning onto his desk. Mr. Ackerman looked up from the papers on his desk. His usual glare couldn't hide the nervousness that was evident and covering his flushed face. "That's none of your concern..." He dismissed.
I smirked, crossing my arms over my chest, "C'mon, if you were hungover, you can just say so," I teased, "You look like the kind of guy who likes a good 40oz."
He chuckled, looking over to his computer and logging on as it booted up, "If believing that I was drunk before I decided to magically sober up and call in late will settle with you, so be it."
I shrugged, turning to leave. "Okay, wise guy..." Just as I reached the door, I stopped to ask, "You're single right?"
"So?" He asked, looking from his computer,
"I bet you were out mingling with the ladies, weren't you!" I accused.
"No?"
"Liar! That girl in that car looked pretty into you!" I said, reapproaching his desk.
His eyes went wide and he seemed at a loss of words, "I didn't sleep with her!"
"Oh yea? Why'd she drop you off here then?" I pressed, knowing that he had to be lying about something. He should just fess up to it.
"That's my... My friend's sister..." He stuttered. "She was helping me with something is all."
"So you're dating your friend's sister?" His face couldn't get any redder at this point. I'd stop questioning him if he'd just tell me the truth. "I'm single! What else do you want from me?"
He stood to go to retrieve a print job he'd sent to the printer. "I want the truth. Or else I'll question you all day long."
He sighed, turning to look at me. I stood expectingly with my hands on my hips. "The truth?" He echoed, "The truth is..."
"Mhm?"
"The truth is that I can always file a restraining order against you." He said, walking back to his office with the printout in hand.
"Seriously? Just say that you slept with your friend's sister!" I urged, "I'm not judging!"
"I didn't sleep with her! She just dropped me off because I left with..." He paused.
"You left with?" I goaded,
He cleared his throat, "That's none of your concern."
"Hmm." I hummed, "Wait... I know what I can do." He glanced at me with an enraged look on his face. "Check the security camera!" I sang tauntingly.
His inability to show any other emotion than anger seemed to disappear altogether; his only expression was a mix of fear and stun. "You wouldn't." He tested.
"Oh, I would," I said back, "And I am." I started to walk towards my office. I could hear Mr. Ackerman speed walking behind me. "Don't try and stop me either!"
"Already happening! There's nothing you're going to find on the recording anyways!" He said, hopping in front of my office door.
"Then you shouldn't mind me checking for burglars then!" I retorted, pushing him aside and barging in. When I got in, there was Sasha with a man in a uniform. He had the panel where the wires met open and was fiddling with them. I put my hand to my forehead, "Sasha, what's today's date?"
"It's the fourth. I was looking for you to tell you the maintenance guy was here." She informed innocently.
Levi smirked contently. "Looks like you're shit out of luck, huh, Becca?"
