I didn't go to see the rascals and let them know where I was... He'll, I didn't even have a vivre card to give them. But at that moment I didn't care as I trudge down to the foot of the mountains to see Bakura Town just ahead. My brows furrow as I frown, my heartache only getting worse as I thought about Law. Ever since I met him, he's always gave me the truth, and could be blunt as hell. But he never once lied to me, or kept anything from me which was any of my business - and even if it wasn't, if I asked, he would tell me if it concerns me or not and I would've been fine with it. But he didn't say that this time, whether it didn't have anything to do with me. So it had to mean it does... right?

I growl while scratching my head as I scold myself. "Dang it, y/n! He's supposed to be thinking hard about it, not you!" I stop as the sudden thought pops in my head and I grow disheartened as my hands fall back to my sides and my head drops. "At this point, I doubt he'll even bother after the scene I made..."

As I walk into town, I already begin to feel an ominous aura and men armed to the teeth stare me down. Chills run down my spine, and I recall some of the natives from the small villages talking about a bad of pirates under Kaido called, The Beast Pirates. Needless to say, the named suits them as I see some with horns and other animalistic characteristics, and I do my best to stay clear from them. Not looking where I was going and paying more attention to the men guarding around town, I failed to realize something barreling towards me until I was knocked off my feet, landing harshly on the dirt road as I hear a grunt and a frightened scream beside me.

"... Damn it, that hurts!... Hey! Watch where you're going!" The man exclaims before panting. "Man... I'm tired."

" I should be saying the same to you, fishnet jerk!" I shot back and stop as I look to see a beast like man and a distressed little girl.

While the brute was down, the girl tries to get up and run, her big eyes looking to me in fright, and I'm able to put two and two together as the man-gazelle, tries to get up.

"Oh no you're not! You can't outrun me, kid!- agh!" Quickly, I grab him by the legs to keep him pinned down and look to the girl.

"Run!" I yell and suddenly I felt the air knocked out of me as I'm kicked hard in the chest.

"Yeah, right! Like I'll let someone as slow as you stop me!"

The tang of iron sputters from my chest and out of my mouth as my body tumbles back. Almost like a solid brick wall struck me, I tried to stay calm and not hyperventilate as I slowly regain my breath. Glancing up, the man had already retrieved the runaway girl and had her tucked under his arm. My hands tremble as I force myself to stand up, my footing failing for a moment before I took a firm stance.

"Let her go..." I growl and my breath comes out in strained wheezes, my brows furrowed as I glared at the assumed member of the Beast Pirates.

He pants as he says, "I've waisted too much time in you.... Gotta get to Holdem-sama..."

"Too bad, it looks like he'll have to wait!" I growl and I pull out my ink pen, managing to stab him in the thigh before he takes off. The girls screaming and kicking as the go deeper into town.

Quickly, I gather my strength and run after him. Hoping that my previous attack kept him from running out of sight as I tailed him from far behind.

Just as I do, something itchy and stiff wraps around my wrist, stopping me from my pursuit and I trip. "Damn it! What now?!" I yell as I look to see a tall man with long wavy blonde hair, and three upside down triangles tattooed where his eyebrows would be.

"Your meddling ends here."

"Oh yeah? Says who, triangles-for-brows?" I grumble and my eyes widen as a swarm of tarot cards appear, and three fall into his hand.

"Says these:" he says as he flips one after the other, revealing there identities to me. "Reversed: Judgement... upright: lovers... and finally, the reversed: tower."

A sudden foreboding weighs over my head and I clench my shaking hands, digging into the gravel as I stare at him.

".... And what does that mean?" I dared to ask as I swallow hard.

".... I only know what the cards foretell. But, I have a pretty good guess..." he says seriously as He raises his sword and I grit my teeth.

Just as he charges, I try to move only to realize my foot is anchored by a straw chain. My only choice was to defend myself as he comes in arms reach and I sling the dirt into his eyes before dodging his sword. As his face draws close to mine, I twist my upper body to land a single hook to his temple and he takes a step back. His expression continues to bare that dull expression as his red eyes turn to me and he pauses. A small trickle of blood runs down his temple and he stands up straight.

"You're stronger than I thought... quite tactful." He comments he raises a hand. "Although, your still not strong enough for me to use my cards."

Another weight slams against me making me lose grip on the handful of sediment. Glancing back, a heavy hammer made from bundles of straw forms from mid-air before swinging back and throttled towards me. I hear a sharp crackling in my arm as I attempt to absorb the blow and I couldn't scream as I collapsed to the ground. My satchel strap breaks, and the bag lands just at Hawkins feet as I clutch my broken arm. The letter from my father and Papa, just sticking out enough for him to see as he kneels down and picks it up.

"No!... It's not yours - to read!" I gasp, my lungs desperately trying to gather air and he examines the parchment.

Without even bothering to listen, he opens the envelope and begins to read the thin stacks of letters inside, and for the first time, his eyes widen just slightly as he stops at a certain point.

"... To think... that that man had a niece this whole time. Cursed blood runs in your veins, woman..."

"... No... please... g-give it back." I mutter as I reach out. My strength failing me as everything goes dark. My mind thinks back to the others as I think before blacking out.

"... .... Law..."

When I came too, I found myself locked within a dark cell. I tried to sit up only to flinch as muffled a scream as I look down to find my arm bruised and swollen. My head was throbbing as I tried to recollect my thoughts and a low rumbles makes me jump.

"Oy, shrimp. Don't think I'll be chummy with ya just cause we're cell mates!"

"... who?" I mumble and look to see a large scarred man in a fur coat, wearing mechanics goggles to help push back his fiery red hair.

My head felt as if it was spinning as he glares down at me. "Do you not know who I am?! Oy! Oy!...."

My mind is in a haze as I collapse once more and my mind couldn't stop thinking of that stupid doctor. "I'm... sorry, Law. I should've... kept my mouth shut." I murmur as a stray tear rolls down my face and I fall unconscious...
