"Oy Captain, wouldn't it be good to get some clothes to help us blend in better with the natives?" Shachi hums with a grin as we walk into the nearest town.
"Yeah! And that gives us a chance to do some research and see if there's any treasures or good booze!" Penguin adds with a lopsided grin as he folds his arms behind his head. "Maybe meet some cute girls..." He mutters and I smile as I shake my head softly at his persistence.
"No... we should keep moving. We have to find Straw hat-ya and his crew as soon as we can and regroup."
I couldn't help but be a little disappointed to hear his response as we walk by a few shops with a variety of kimono's with beautiful designs and colors. I wasn't one to dress up, but the clothing would make a good reminder of the trip and something to show Granny. I glance back up at Law, seeing him completely uninterested in anything aside from our mission and my shoulders slump. A small part of me wondered what he would think if I tried one on... But then again, he wouldn't be the type to care about such redundant things. I sigh a little as I look to the side, admiring the shops and scenery as we continue walking. I feel a large paw on my shoulder and look to the Rascal Trio looking at me in determination as they all simultaneously give me a thumbs up and a smile. I look at them utterly perplexed by their odder than normal behavior as I raise a brow, but keep my mouth closed, too afraid to ask what they got up their sleeves.
"Y/n thinks it would be good to stop and get some clothes!" Bepo announces and I jump as I glared daggers at him.
"I'm sorry -"
"Don't apologize!!!" Shachi and Penguin yell.
Law turns with a sigh and looks at me. "Y/n-ya... what makes you agree?" He asks as he crosses my arms and my cheeks grow warm now being pushed in the spotlight.
"Well... You're right to want to hurry, and if we stay in our normal attire we'll be easier to find grow the Straw hats... However, it'll be just as easy for Kaido and other potential enemies to spot us also." I reason and he raised a brow. "... Also, I kinda wanna shop a little bit... B-but just for needed materials, of course! I still need a weapon."
My face burns as he stares down at me silently before sighing. "Alright, you make a fair point. You three, go get clothes and and supplies to travel with while y/n and I will go find a change of clothes and her a weapon. Be back in thirty minutes, and don't be late."
"Aye sir! Thank you!!" They salute before running like the wind, leaving Law and I in a cloud of dust.
"They really know how to get going." I cough as I wave away the dust and he turns towards the shop I was looking at earlier.
"They know to hurry. Come on, we should hurry too." He says and I follow him.
As we enter, and old shopkeeper smiles and greets us. "Hello! I'm Mrs. Su, the owner - but everyone here usually calls me Grandma. Please, make yourselves comfortable and look around - or could I interest you in our couple's sets? Quite a popular trend for the spring festival!"
"Oh! Um- thank you, but-"
"Thank you, but we're not a couple." Law quickly denies and I feel like I've been stabbed in the chest by how easily he denied it.
He walks over to the men's section and I sigh in dejection before heading towards the women's. My eyes quickly land on a (f/c) and (other f/c) kimono with a (floral, animal, simple) design, and gold trim. The old woman comes over to me and beaming as she looks at the clothing.
"That one is my favorite, one of a kind too."
"It's beautiful." I comment and she smiles softly.
