(*notice! Short chapter and slight trigger warning!... )
The air was cold as my eyes flutter open, I'm blinded by the light as a wave of nausea hits me and I turn to my side as I cough up salt water from my lungs. My chest aches as I suck in deep breaths of air before gradually regaining a steady pace, and my mind reels back as I recall being at the hot springs with Bandit... Then...
I freeze as it all came back to me. Another tanuki had transformed into Law, dragging me away from Bandit and leaving me wide open for an ambush. Quickly jumping up, I scan my surroundings as I look around the large dimly lit room only to not see anyone in sight as a sinister laugh echoes.
"Finally, I get to meet my precious little niece! You've made quite a reputation for yourself, (y/n)." The voice rumbles and a newspaper falls to my feet, revealing a picture of my bounty and I frown.
"All thanks to you, I can bet. I know the government couldn't be the only ones raising my bounty." I growl blindly, unable to detect where he was.
Suddenly, I bump into something behind me and I jump back as I turn. My eyes travel up from a freshly tailored suit under pink feathers and stop as they meet the glint of rather large sunglasses.
"What? Can't an uncle be excited to meet his brother's precious child?"
"'Late' brother, you mean... Like you killed in cold blood like the rest of your family." I glare and that ugly smile is still plastered on his face.
"No, I killed my father and my brother... but I never killed your grandmother. She died of other causes..." he notes as he raises a finger, but my expression remains the same.
"... Bet she would be been real proud of you if she were still here." I growl and he chuckles.
"We'll yes, I'll admit that my actions weren't the best. But I've always been the black sheep, haven't I?"
He takes a step forward as I take one back, silently refusing to allow him to get any closer and his smile drops. Raising his hand, he moves his fingers and I'm suddenly pinned as an invisible force constricts my arms and legs before tying around my throat. I couldn't move away as his large hand grabs my chin and he studies my face before slowly grinning.
"You don't have much of your father's looks but you have that same fire that was in his eyes... just before I shot him and left him in the snow." He chuckles and out of anger I spit in his face.
Just as I do, he kicks me hard on the side and the thin strings binding me broke as I'm sent across the room. I grit my teeth as my whole left side throbs and I bite my lip to keep him from gaining the satisfaction of hearing me in pain. I hold my side gingerly, and take deep breaths as he frowns and wipes the saliva off his face. He clicks his tongue in annoyance as he slowly walks to me, his heels clicking before he stops just beside me and steps onto my leg.
"Oy, treat your elders with respect... Or else I might just have to treat that boy-toy of yours a lesson." He growls as he adds pressure and I flinch. "Although, he's not going to be let off so easily either."
The room suddenly becomes heavy as my blood runs hot and I look him in the eyes. My hands felt as if they were on fire as he freezes, and in that moment something pulses out of me as I glare up. My hand grabs onto his ankle with a tight grip and I could almost see him wince as I push up.
"Lay a finger on my friends... and I'll kill you!" Another pulse sends him stumbling back and his hands shook as he fought to stand straight.
A sharp pain shoots through my skull and runs behind my eye socket. Slowly, I pull myself up as he laughs weakly before his laughter grows louder and I lean against the wall to balance myself.
