"Our mother and my father were tied into a political marriage, in attempts to make the whole island ruled under one kingdom... Some people were opposed to the idea, but nonetheless, the majority of the kingdom agreed to this and there was prosperity. That is until we were locked into a civil war." He begins to explain and he bites his lip as he brows furrow.

He stares down at his hands as I see his distress and I begin to worry. Placing a hand on her shoulder, he looks at me and he shakes his head. "Our mom... and my dad never got along. But he still treated her well... at least until the night they broke out into a huge argument. I didn't know what cause them to become so hateful, until a couple years back, after the war had subsided. I found my father in his study with some... weird clown."

My eyes widen at this information and he continues. "In order to stop the war... he made a deal with the clown in order to promote their business. All our ships, our food, everything carrying these fruits with devil fruit powers... Only the rioters and commoners were forced into eating the defects."

As infuriatingly vile as it was, it wasn't a complete surprise... But now I know two things: Where the distribution started on this island... and someone who has actually seen one of the clowns that profit from this epidemic. As I look around, I get a better glimpse at the band of rebels to be men an women with wide smiling faces, others with scars or missing limbs. Sure enough, these are the opposers who are now called terrorist, who once were happy common folk. These people, and this revolt against the throne are only the small details placed in this ugly portrait that were hidden in the background. However as my eyes scan the crowd of people, I turn to Will with one detail that wasn't quite finished in his story.

"... What about mom? You said that she fought with your dad... and when I asked if she's alive, you said 'sort of'... What did you mean by that?" I ask and he bites his lip.

His lips quivering as he opens his mouth only to close it again, his hands clenched tightly to the point his knuckles turn white and my worry begins to set. He lowers his head in shame, daring not to let me see the tears forming as he spoke.

"She was the first..." He choked as a tear ran down his cheek and my heart dropped. "He poisoned her with the SMILE fruit."

"Excuse me miss, I'm afraid you must have an appointment with the ki..." The guard spoke as I slowly approached the gate.

My fist were swollen as blood trickled my knuckles, holding a unconscious soldier by the collar.

"HALT! Let go of that man, at once!" The guards suddenly shout as they point their weapons and I raise my head.

"... Where's the bastard you call 'King'?" I growl and suddenly another burst of energy runs through me, knocking the guards out in seconds.

From there, I drop the body as I stand at the gate, guards coming at every corner as I see a glimpse of gold peering from one of the windows above. Black hues meet my piercing gaze and I inhale.

"COME DOWN HERE, LOMBARDI COWARD!" I roar and I unleash my haki once more, causing the whole courtyard of soldiers and servants to collapse. "You and I need to talk!.."

Minutes feel like hours as he calmly walks out of the castle entrance and through the courtyard with bodyguards by his side. He smiles calmly, but I can see the beads of sweat just below his brow.

"And here I thought your wanted poster was possibly a mere prank! You're the spitting image of my sweet Elizabeth!" He smiles as he comes close enough to the closed gate that he was able to speak to me without being within striking position. "Now, what is all this fuss about?"
