My eyes flutter open to the savory fragrance of smoked bacon and sweet maple syrup and I wake up to see an empty space where my Captain lies beside me. A feather light touch causes me to shift as I'm greeted with a kiss and I sit up, rubbing the tiredness from my eyes. As my vision focuses, my eyes widen as I stare at the bread-hating raven in astonishment as he held a tray, carrying a small stack of my famous (fav. Fruit) french toast with a side of bacon and syrup, and a glass of orange juice. I rubbed my eyes again, wondering if I was still dreaming to only have him chuckle as he sits the tray down in my lap.
"You're not dreaming... although you might wish it was. Jean had to help me with the recipe you gave him." He mumbles as he blushes and I giggle, beaming at the sight.
"I just can't believe you made this! It smells delicious!" I smile and he grins.
"Well, this is our first official date as a couple. I want to treat my woman with the best, of course." He blushes as he crosses his arms and I blush.
"Who knew the infamous Surgeon of Death could be such a sweetheart." I grin before taking a bite and instantly my tastebuds are bursting. "And such a good cook!"
Law simply smiles in triumph by my compliments and glances as I happily eat. Smiling, I hand him a bite of bacon and he accepts as he eats from my fork, tasting his work with pride. He still refuses to eat bread, but he seem to enjoy the fact I liked it as I ate away until I was almost stuffed.
"I have to pick up a few things today, but I'll be back to pick you up around six." He says and I smile.
"Sounds good, I actually need to pick up something too." I grin and try not to glance at my sketchbook. "I want to grab a postcard to send back to Granny and the villagers."
"Alright then. I'll leave so you can get dressed, see you later." He says before he kisses my and takes the tray out with him. My face felt as if it had exploded as my mind couldn't stop thinking of Law saying 'my woman'.
Excited for the day, all my fatigue was gone as I jump out of bed and prepare to go out for the finishing touches on Law's gift. I go ahead and put on a touch of makeup before grabbing my sketchbook and putting it in my bag as I head out. As I walk through town, I smile seeing everyone is able to enjoy themselves as they carry about their day, but made a note to still be vigilant. I've dealt with the dragon trash, but there are still traffickers the shop owner warned about... Yet there hasn't been any signs.
I reach an old wood shop, and a bell chimes as I open the front door.
"Ah hello there! What can I help you with?" A woman at the register smiles and I smile back.
" I was hoping I could purchase some frames for these. It's a gift for someone." I say as I pull out my sketchbook and pull out three drawings.
"Oh my! You're quite an artist! These are lovely!" She gasps and I grin.
"Thank you! It's a surprise for my date... I'm hoping to give him these tonight if that's possible.
"Sure! These aren't too big, and I know just the frames that will suit these perfectly!" She says as she carefully takes the pictures. " Please give me a moment and I'll bring these out, framed, and ready for your date. Make yourself comfortable!"
"Thank you so much!" And with that, I take the chance to glance around the store.
There was variety of things inside the shop, from furniture, frames, and even training swords and dummies. I admired the intricate embellishments on the frame of a full body mirror and stop as I see someone standing behind me in the reflection. I turn to see a blonde man with long sharp teeth, wearing a skin tight shirt, shorts and heels. Something with the look in his wide eyes didn't sit right with me, and I grab my nodachi, ready for anything as he chuckles.
