A trail of feather light pecks going up my shoulder and to my cheek, sweetly stir me from my slumber as I feel the bed rise, slightly. I try to force down a smile as I try to act like I'm still asleep. Carefully opening an eye to see Law quietly getting ready for another day of work, despite their not being much to do. His eyes were lax as they still wished to be closed and he stumbled slightly when stepping over his shoes before gathering them. I quickly close my eyes as he turns to see if I'm still asleep and there was a moment of silence. I hear as small sigh of relief as his footsteps travel to the bathroom and the door locks with a click as he changes and gets ready for they day.
It has been two weeks since we left the Wano Kingdom, and everyone who was injured in the battle against Kaido and the Beast Pirates, has managed to heal quite miraculously. My arm has finally healed completely, and ever since I've been training endlessly to prepare myself for the chances of our next fight. My muscles ache as I shift my position, my body sore from sparing against Jean and he beastly strength and fighting skill. If he had used his full strength, he probably would've ripped the ship apart. But he managed to use enough to give me a challenge, without causing damage to the Polar Tang.
Ever since Law and I confessed to one another, Law has shown sides of him I've never seen before, and every new expression made us seem to grow closer. In private, he would be affectionate as he kisses me softly, or wrap me in his arms as I read or sketch in my sketchbook just before we went to bed. Some nights we would lie together, too tired to do anything yet our minds were still awake. So until we finally could fall asleep we'd tell each other stories of our youth... our little misadventures, the people we've crossed paths with... He had been through so much as a child, and I hoped that in some way, I could give him the joy and solace that he's been missing.
I look at the clock to see it's just six in the morning, and I look out to see the deep blue hue of the ocean through the porthole, unable to tell really if the sun has risen underneath the ocean surface. I roll onto my back as I looked at the ceiling, listening as Law got ready and eventually the door clicking. Closing my eyes once more, I listen as the door opens and Law's heavy footsteps slowly comes around the room and stops at my side. I didn't need to see as I feel his presence leaning over me, and a light kiss is placed on my forehead making me smile. Bringing my arms around his neck, a gently pull him close as our lips touch and we share a passionate kiss. Law grins into the kiss before deepening it and lying me back into the bed, before we part and I open my eyes with a smile.
"Now that's how you kiss someone good morning." I purr and he chuckles as he kisses me once more.
"I figured I'd let you sleep in since you've been working so hard these past few days." He mumbles softly and I smile as my heart flutters.
"So have you, but here you are, dressed and ready to conquer the world." I giggle and he smiles. "Let me get dressed and I'll bring some breakfast to the office?"
"Alright, just eggs and ham would be good for me. Just as long as it isn't bread."
I laugh as I couldn't help but think of the time I offered to make French toast for him one morning, and he refused it saying he doesn't like bread. However, every time I asked as to why, he never would give me an answer. A wicked smile pulls the corners of my lips and as if he could read my mind he grins as he lies on top of me, playfully pinning me down.
"On second thought... I could just eat you before you try to feed me any." He growls and licks his lips and I laugh as my cheeks flush, knowing he was simply teasing.
" Oh come on ~ You won't try one bite of my famous French Toasts? They were the talk of the town back home. So sweet and fluffy that it melted in your mouth~"
