3. He was desperate.

Adrien stared at the clock with his hands intertwined with each other brought to his lips as he tapped his foot impatiently.

The interview started at 3:30, it was currently 3:28. Adrien's life motto was always; no tardiness, no exceptions. He liked to be precise about things he could control.

Time was relevant; time was money.

Nonetheless, he didn't want anything to interrupt his meeting— or should he say; his interview with the bluenette. He wanted the entire hour to talk about business.

Maybe even catch up on their lost years...

He had canceled, postponed, or rescheduled all his meetings for today just to make sure everything ran smoothly.

But even so, he was waiting patiently for the girl. Cursing 'where the hell is she' as every second that passed.

Is she postponing the interview?

I hadn't received any emails from her about the sort.

Maybe she found out by Alya that she was seeing me today.

No, then Nino would have informed me.

But it wasn't as if it wasn't normal for Marinette to be late. She had a reputation for always being tardy for school or events and blamed it for oversleeping.

Adrien hoped she had grown out of that phase, but staring at the clock.

She hasn't changed one bit. He smiled to himself slightly, a memory of her popping in his head.

The entire time he was in the office, was nerve-wracking for the poor CEO. Nonstop overthinking and constantly checking his emails if anything came up.

But it wasn't until his company phone blew up, coming from the front desk. "Yes, Sabrina what is it." Irritation laced his voice, really not wanting to hear his receptionist right now.

"She's here sir," her voice came off as a whisper through the phone, but he heard it loud and clear.

His heart jumped.

"Marinette is here?" He asked I swear to God if it's someone else—

"Yes."

He paused. A small smile overtook his face as she answered. He breathed slowly, biting his lips and clenching his fist tightly as it turned white.

"Bring her to me, right now." Adrien raised his voice slightly, refusing to wait for her any longer.

He wanted to see her right now.

"I'll send her right up."

He slammed his phone back into the machine and rushed to grab his compact mirror that was in one of his drawers.

Before he was a CEO, he was a model. So he always had his makeup kit in his drawers just in case he needed to look presentable to important people.

Marinette was one of those important people to him.

He stared at himself to check his combed yet gelled hair, running his hands through his locks quickly to fix any little misplacement he didn't like.

He flashed his smile at the mirror to see his pearly white teeth and tried to find any food that was stuck or stained.

But just in time, he heard the sound of an elevator ring on the other side of his office door, causing him to jump.

Jesus, she got here quickly.
