Chloe and Marinette didn't have a good relationship. Even adding the word 'relationship' was pushing it. They were enemies.
Marinette wanted to bring the good out of people and shine a light on them. But Chloe would bring them down and belittle each and every one. Opposites.
If you look at Adrien and Marinette's relationship, it would be a breeze compared to the blonde diva and the bluenette. At least Adrien and Marinette would mostly ignore each other and only argue when the situation called for it.
However, Chloe made sure to pick on Marinette every day of every hour. And knowing Marinette's personality, she didn't let that slide one bit. It was once harmless bickering for the two, turned into something more heated. Well, for Chloe at least.
During high school, there was a project assigned, and the pairing was for pairs that don't usually work together. Nino and Alya, Chloe and Nathaniel, Adrien and Marinette.
While Chloe was madly obsessed with the boy who she called 'Adrikins', she had nothing to worry about knowing those two were paired together. She knew that Adrien couldn't stand Marinette almost as much as she could.
But she could have never guessed that a month-long project together would... stir something in the blonde boy.
She knew Adrien very well, their families were close, they were always hanging out before and after school, and she had access to the forbidden Agreste home. She could thank her father for that.
As much as she watched Adrien, her eyes would follow his. While he was staring at something else.
A girl.
A Du. Pain. Cheng.
While on the outside Adrien and Marinette would argue, Chloe knew exactly what he was thinking. Knew exactly what he was feeling.
That irritated look turned into a flirtatious smirk. The constant eye roll would turn into a yearning gaze. Even the way he talked down to her became soft and comforting.
Adrien was slowly but surely falling in love with her.
And it was clear as day; by the way, Marinette would stutter and blush by the sight of him. She was too.
Chloe didn't like this one bit. That was the day she branded Marinette her sworn enemy and vowed to make her life a living hell. She cranked the heat up by 1,000 and always made sure she had the last word.
What Chloe didn't know was that one last little prank from Chloe... would result in the Bluenette moving away. Killing the Adrien she once knew and turning him into the heartless man she sees today.
