Marinette's body jolted awake at the sound of consistent rings of a phone call, screaming at her to wake up. Her eyes widened, groggily staring at the blinding light of her phone. She glanced down at the name of the caller: Adrien Agreste.
She groaned as she looked at the time, 5:30 AM. Right on the dot. "You're KILLING me Agreste.." she mumbled, before answering the phone. "What...?"
"Good morning to you too, Marinette." The first thing Marinette hears in the morning is the deep and sarcastic voice of her boss, immediately sending chills down her spine. She wasn't sure if she liked how calmly relaxing Adrien's tone of voice was soothing to hear, or terrifying. But what she did know was that she had only a few hours of sleep today, and she was not happy about it.
Even Adrien could tell.
"Do I need to add "wake Marinette up" as a part of my morning routine?" she rolled her eyes and began to forcibly roll out of bed. She sighed, stomping her way toward the bathroom, her phone still pressed against her cheek as she began to strip for her hot shower.
"I'll get ready, sir..."

About an hour and a chug of caffeine later, Adrien's car pulled into her parking lot, and she opened the door and hopped into his passenger seat, with a pair of super dark sunglasses on, covering her eyes from the morning sun as if she was a vampire who would melt if she were to stare at it for too long.
She also had a pounding headache that felt like a crazy hangover from partying all night last night, except she was completely sober. "Jesus Marinette, I'm sure I've given you more than enough time to get yourself together," Adrien commented at her wild appearance, as if she was some sort of celebrity in hiding, wearing casual yet professional clothing.
A black and white checkered pantsuit with a cream-colored sweater tucked in, a handbag hanging from her arm, and her hair tied into a messy bun.
Marinette subtly rolled her eyes, yet glanced at the attire Adrien was wearing; a navy blue suit with a white dress shirt underneath. He even had a silk handkerchief stuffed into his pocket with his company name embroidered on it.
Even if she wanted to, she couldn't complain about his appearance compared to hers. It was like she was a raggedy Anne sitting next to a Ken doll.
"All due respect, Mr. Agreste, but did you even sleep?" If there was one thing Marinette remembered last night, was that it was half past midnight by the time she had been knocked out in his car.
She didn't even remember how she got into her bed last night.
He smiled, taking notice of Marinette's concerns about his sleeping schedule, and shook his head. "Three shots of espresso have that effect on me." He shrugged as if being awake for more than 24 hours was no big deal for him.
Which wasn't, this was Adrien's normal schedule.
Marinette would die if she hadn't gotten at least 6 hours of sleep a day. Although the more she thought about it, she had only gotten about 4 hours of sleep tonight; she might as well be planning her funeral seeing how she should just accept that this would be her life from now on.
"By the way," she started, genuinely curious about another important topic at hand, "how did I get home this morning?" she had no memory of even leaving his car, not to mention where the hell she got the energy to wipe the makeup from off her face and do her nightly skincare routine. And yet, she woke up in her bed with a naked, moisturized face.
Adrien smiled, glancing at her with a sly look on his face. "Would you believe me if I said I carried you home?"
Adrien had a shit-eating grin plastered on his face every time he glanced at Marinette cuddling with his arm. His stomach turned at her beautiful calm and relaxed face.
